@BackTNature1 Exactly. Before ripping out the camera section I had a chance to play with the XT-30 and XT-4 (or was it 3?). While on paper the XT-30 looks perfect for me the difference in viewfinders experience was substantial enough that suddenly the XT-4 (or was it 3) was looking a lot more attractive. How are you supposed to figure that out just from online stuff? You can read the spec for a viewfinder but it does not communicate that "feel" the connection it gives you to the camera and photography.

Luckily there are a few dedicated camera stores but they are all inconveniently located "down town" and always feel like going to a car dealer with the sales person breathing down your neck.

I'm with Passereau. 100 bucks discount for the camera without the charger is plenty. For me as a current X-T2 owner who already has the charger, this is good news.

I didn't get a charger with my X-T30 and am happy with that. I picked up a compact duel battery USB-C & Micro_USB charger that suits my needs. I have plenty of cables and high watt wall chargers for my phone / powerbank that can be used.

I'd much rather have the $100 discount than a charger I would never use.

Exactly. A flip screen is not an upgrade perse.

Firmware upgrade takes some effort.

New coat of paint takes some effort.

Removing a charger takes 0 effort.

Wrong. Took away external charger take huge effort to redesign awarded "box packaging" (small box more environment friendly and less fuel cost for transportation) 😛

Yes, chip shortage results in no charger. That's correct. The same thing is happening to mark ii models of nikon Z. How do you suppose a charger regulates battery charging, detect charge levels, cut off power when needed? You need chips.
Let me emphasise again - this isn't a successor model to the xt30.

M50 ii is much worse to me. It doesn't deserve the mark ii name.

At least M50 Mark II has firmware upgrade, but X-T30 WW hadn't.
For used market, X-T3 and X-T30 WW has little different since different production year. Fujiflm camera motherboard has rechargeable battery which may break after ....

It's just a matter of volume. If I'm a chip manufacturer, would i sell my limited stock to a customer who will buy 100,000 units, or a customer who would only buy 20,000 units? That's why third party chargers are less affected. They are mass produced in greater quantities.

It is for the same reason why standalone graphics cards for consumers are in severe shortage but computer companies like Dell have no issues manufacturing and selling computers. They acquired the stocks in high volume, so the supply priority goes to them.

You claim that some of the cameras with chargers in it can be found for a lower price, because that's street price, not RRP. I got a new nikon Z6 for only $1150 when the RRP is several hundred dollars higher, so what's your point? Just because a product is announced at a specific price point it doesn't mean it'll be sold at that price. Complaining over a charger is the epitome of a first world problem

That why I still not understand why Fujiflm didn't fix X-T30 II's Q button issue. It easy fix via make Q button deeper 2mm into existing thumb rest position or make existing thumb rest higher 2mm. It will not cost much than modify X-T30 II logo print in camera body.

In addition, if want futher cut cost, Fujiflm can :
1. Release new battery which 100% same with Sony NP-FZ100 (2280mAh, 83g) instead of Fujiflm NP-W126S (1260mAh, 41g). If Fujiflm sell battery cheaper than Sony, many Sony consumer (which larger group especially YouTuber) may buy it. Note: NP-W235 (used in Fujiflm X-T4, 2200 mAh, 79g) not a good choice in shrinked market.
2. Use cheap smartphone AMOLED screen from China's vendor. AMOLED has larger view angle, can be cut into different shape and size.

X-T30 II no need redesign body if they put Q button deep 2mm in same location :- consumer will no easy accidentally press Q button. Fingers press still can press deep 2mm Q button.

Some consumer self mod via put rubber on thumb rest around Q button.

There will be an X-T40?

If you want Jack of all trades master of none, pick Sony.

The WW is $100 cheaper than the regular X-T3.

I am definitely not worried about lens options. This is really a typical over promoted canard. Z lenses are very good, third party lenses are quickly becoming options, and legacy lenses with adapters. My initial post was not anti-Fuji. It was merely a comment on the XT30 II, which is, I am sure, a nice camera but not compelling enough to regret not waiting for it.
You pick yours, and I will pick mine.

Z has 3 APSC lenses. I’d worry.

Tkbslc. Six now, not three. There are already a trio of f1.4 primes from viltrox. The only lenses lacking now are ultrawides. Of course, most camera sites won't make an article on it because everyone hates nikon.

@tkbslc - If you know what you are doing, you only need three. I am not a lens collector, I'm a photographer.

@Jorge Photog - Currently I use a Nikon D5500 for travel, sometimes with a Canon 80D. I will downsize for my next trip and leave the Canon at home and get either the Nikon D5600, Z50 or Z5.

It's an improved version of an excellent and very popular camera. That's why!

Interesting perspective. I think Fuji has improved many aspects of their cameras, from video spec to AF performance, inclusion of IBIS in certain models, additional film simulations, ... even if you compare it to the generation of the X-T2 - a camera that was a big step forward for Fuji - today's cameras have come a long way. On the lens side, Fuji now has an almost fully fleshed out system ranging from 8mm to 400mm, lacking maybe a T&S lens (roadmap for the GFX system) and some fast sports lenses (outside the 200/2.0). From weather resistant sealing, to silent faster AF motors, and recently linear motors for video, the lens portfolio hasn't only improved in coverage, but also in technical capability.

Fuji might not be a manufacturer pushing the envelope like Sony, but with a distinctly different control philosophy and unique models like the X100 and X-Pro line, Fuji has continuously progressed through the years.

IBIS is overrated. From my experience it's only helpful in video. You can stabilise your camera but you can't tell everyone around you to stop moving. You can handhold 1/10s but if foliage blurs away due to wind or any human subjects in your photos blurs away, you will still end up requiring higher shutter speeds, negating the need for IBIS.

Totally agree. Any new fuji product should have at least the IBIS-jr in the x-s10 if not the IBIS-sr in the x-t4. Fuji should not launch a new product without this - it should be the standard now.

The XS10 has space for IBIS because its battery is in the grip; this camera does not have a large enough grip to put a battery in, therefore, no IBIS.

The XT40 will have IBIS.

Fuji claims the X-S10 is not selling well, so they concluded IBIS wasn't needed in the X-T30. If you really want IBIS then yes you should buy the X-S10, so why aren't people?

Or they concluded that PASM isn't needed, and will put IBIS in the XT40 which will be redesigned to accommodate it.

I would expect IBIS in X-T40 no matter X-S10 sales, as it`s just a thing of the future (not to say of the current moment for quite some while, even). Reality is that future camera`s will be perceived seriously lacking if IBIS is omitted, especially with competition pushing forward. It`s not always useful nor required, but it`s becoming a standard (expectation) anyway.

On the other hand, even though X-S10 is not a camera I would be interested in (mostly because of PSAM and fully articulating screen), I still think it`s an important camera in Fuji`s lineup, once again providing options and possibly expanding Fuji`s user base a bit, too. Now, if sales met expectations is a different thing, but that also depends on a lot of external factors, some of them hard to predict in these few years due to worldwide circumstances we`re all in.

Since Ricoh fitted IBIS in the teeny GR-III (which has an APS sensor) I think claiming a lack of space is more a way of saying we haven't developed the technology to make it small enough yet...

They will of course introduce the next sensor at the top level and then slowly trickle it down to the mid range. I expect X-H2 in Spring 2022, X-T5 in the summer, and X-T40 in winter 2022, just over a year from now.

X-S10 offer IBIS in cheaper price because want attract consumer from other brands.
How Fujiflm treat existing Fuji user (retro dials lovers).......we know it already via X-T3 WW

Fuji regularly improves the AF performance with free firmware updates. So no need to buy a new camera for that.

@DrewRick, I have a few USB-C chargers around, yet I prefer going out shooting with my T3 while 2 batteries are being charged in parallel at home.

Also, I don't feel so comfortable charging the batteries in-camera. Especially third parties, just in case they leak some day. And although I haven't really tested, I believe standalone chargers are quicker.
