Rawer brings Raw editing to Windows Phone 8.1
Despite rumors of other mobile operating systems adding Raw capture to their imaging capabilities, Microsoft's high-end Lumia models are still the only smartphones that allow you to save your images in DNG Raw format. With the new Rawer app for Windows Phone, you can now not only capture but also edit Raw files on your Lumia 1020, Lumia 1520, Lumia 930 and Lumia Icon. After the next Lumia Camera update the app will also work on the new Lumia 830.
In addition the app is also capable of processing Raw files from more than 600 cameras including models from Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony and Leica. At launch the app automatically detects Raw images on your device and displays them in its camera roll. You can view Exif data and adjust white balance settings, apply auto brightness, reduce the image size for quicker processing and apply noise reduction. For more editing options including contrast, brightness, exposure, saturation, sharpness and hue you'll have to invest $1.99 for the paid version.
The user interface offers a useful before-after split-screen view that allows you to see the impact of your modifications versus the original image. Edited images can be exported as JPEG-files and shared to most social networks, saved on the OneDrive cloud service or emailed.
