French photographer and filmmaker Mathieu Stern has shared a new video showcasing wet plate photography on his YouTube channel. The video introduces viewers to the process of shooting with cameras around 150 years old, including preparing the plates, setting up the camera, capturing the subject, and developing the final image.

The video was shot in Vienna, Austria, with Markus Hofstätter, a photographer who specializes in collodion wet plate photography. Hofstätter introduces viewers to his studio and pouring room, where he showcases multiple cameras and the wet plate collodion process, something he also shows viewers in his own videos.

High-resolution scans of the wet plate images showcased in this video can be found here. Hofstätter's other wet plate photography work is available on his Instagram.
