Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship model that is squarely aimed at high-end phablets like the Google Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or Apple iPhone 6 Plus. The new device is only 6.95mm thin and, as it is typical for Xiaomi, the body and parts of the user interface come with an "Apple-inspired" design.

The camera module uses a 1/3.06 Sony BSI CMOS sensor, an optical image stabilization system and a two-tone LED flash. At the front a 4MP camera serves as a selfie-shooter and in video-chats. Images can be framed and viewed on a 5.7-inch 1080p IPS display that offers adaptive dynamic contrast and a blue light-reducing mode and comes with only 3mm thin bezels. Front and back of the device are covered with Corning's Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood a Xiaomi-customized version of Android 4.4.4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system chip and 3GB of RAM. Users can choose from versions with 16 or 64GB of internal storage. The Mi Note also offers dual-SIM slots (microSIM and nano-SIM), LTE-connectivity and a 3,000 mAh battery.

The Mi Note will available in China from January 27 and set you back RMB 2,299 ($370) for the 16GB model. The 64GB variant will be approximately $80 more expensive. No detail on international availability has been given yet.
