Chinese hardware manufacturer Huawei will be releasing the details of its new Ascend P6 smartphone in London on June 18. Huawei (pronounced wah-way) has recently made headway in the global market, holding the title of third-highest market share in smartphones (behind Samsung and Apple). Despite the global success, Huawei has been struggling to reach the U.S. market, facing government bans and uninterested wireless carriers.
Huawei announced the Ascend P6's upcoming launch on its Facebook (ironically banned in most of China). If the P6 is anything like Huawei's other devices, we can look for a high-megapixel sensor on its rear-facing camera — the D2 was packing a 13MP camera months before Samsung's Galaxy S4 came out.
We'll share more details of Huawei's Ascend P6 smartphone — including availabilty and pricing — when announced next month.
