The new Hydro Edge runs Android 4.1 and has a 5-megapixel camera.

For smartphone users with butterfingers, the new Hydro Edge from Kyocera is boasted as "oops-proof." The Android 4.1-running device comes with a 4-inch, impact-resistant display, and will survive dunks in up to 3.28 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. The Hydro Edge is by no means totally waterproof — you won't be swimming with it like Sony wants you to do with the Xperia ZR — but it provides a decent amount of protection for users who might be a little clumsy and don't want to house their phone in an bulky plastic case.

Exact pricing and launch dates will be announced closer to availability, but based on Sprint's press release it appears the Hydro Edge will be available in the U.S. starting this summer.
