In addition to your own personal photo gallery, My Nikon World's social sharing includes access to other galleries, where you can search by various parameters.

After company president Makoto Kimura made it clear that Nikon really is forward-thinking in an interview earlier this week, the camera manufacturer has launched its My Nikon World Facebook application and community. My Nikon World is designed for photographers to display and share images, compete in challenges and learn from pros and peers. Galleries are divided into categories for easier searching and viewing and badges and awards are given to active participants.

When you register, you have to give My Nikon World access to your Facebook account (profile, relationships, friends, etc.). After that you can fill out your profile page and view, upload and share images.

My Nikon World encourages users to participate in challenges and earn awards and badges.

And if you'd like to link up with Nikon via Facebook, you might also be interested in staying connected through your mobile device. Nikon offers two free iOS apps that offer interactive learning from your iPhone and iPad. In addition to the latest Nikon news, you'll find photo tips and other information and educational content to help improve your photography knowledge and skills. In addition to its Learn & Explore app (available in the U.S. app store), Nikon also offers the  Nikon Asia Image Guide. The latter is available for download from the Asia App Store in English and traditional Chinese.
