The online photography sharing platform and community 500px has introduced an analytics app for iOS called Insights. The app provides a plethora of statistical information, often presented in graphical format, about both the global usage of 500px and your personal account. This allows you to determine the best upload times, keywords and categories for making your images more discoverable on the platform.
On a global level you can see see lists of the highest rated images or those with most views, likes or favorites. You can also see which cameras have been used to capture them, where the photographers are based, where the images were taken and what tags and categories were used. This works for both currently popular images and all-time favorites.
If you are logged in with your user name, you get the same information for your own images as well as statistics about the popularity and activity of your account and activity notifications. If you don't have a 500px account yet the app also allows you to create one from your mobile device.
Subscribers to a 500px Plus premium account have even more information at their hands, including advanced graphs and customizable analytics. The app looks like a very useful tool for current 500px users and is now available for free in the Apple App Store. It requires iOS 7 or later and is optimized for iPhone 5.
