SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II claims to be fastest
SanDisk has introduced the Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card, calling it the fastest microSD card in the world. The new Extreme PRO will be offered in 64GB and 128GB capacities, and features transfer speeds up to 275MB/sec with Class 10 and UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) ratings. The announcement is timed with the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona where a number of high-profile mobile devices are launching.
'We designed this card specifically to address consumers' needs for a faster solution when transferring massive files,' says SanDisk VP of Product Marketing Dinesh Bahal. According to SanDisk, the Extreme PRO microSDXC card is ideal for recording Full HD and 4K UHD video from smartphones, actions cameras and drones, among other devices. The new card is backwards compatible with UHS-I devices, and is rugged with temperature/shock/X-ray/waterproof construction.
The SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card will be available in Q2 2016 for $179.99 (64GB) and $299.99 (128GB).
