There is hardly a lack of image filter apps on the Apple App Store. However, most of the apps, including the editing components of image sharing platforms such as Instagram or EyeEm, come with a relatively small number of filter effects to choose from. This is where Infltr, short for 'Infinite Filters', comes in. According to its makers the app offers 5.1 million individual filters which should be more than enough for even the most demanding image filter evangelists.
Given the large number of filter options it only makes sense the user interface works a little differently compared to most editing apps. Instead of choosing a filter preset, you swipe your finger over the preview before capture to change hue and tonality of the image. To keep track of what you're doing, a color bubble is visible under your fingertip. Currently, you have to select your favorite filter for the scene before hitting the shutter button, and there is no way to edit an image that has already been taken.
Infltr is now available on the App Store for $2 in English, French, Dutch and Spanish language versions and works with both iPhones and iPads running iOS 7 or newer. More information can be found on the Infiltr website.
