Ricoh launches Theta+ Video app for iPhone
Ricoh Imaging has today announced THETA+ Video for Apple's iPhone. The app allows for editing of 360° footage and time-lapse videos that have been captured with one of Ricoh's THETA cameras. You can trim video clips, choosing from four viewing formats including Little Planet, which "projects" the video on a small planet floating in space, and apply 10 different filters. There is also the option to add music, either from the user's own library or choosing one of eight tracks available in the app. As usual, final results can be shared to social networks including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
In addition, the THETA+ app for editing 360° spherical still images has been updated as well and comes with several new features which include five new image filters, functions for image cropping and trimming, and the ability to post time-lapse videos created with a THETA camera directly to Facebook. The new THETA+ Video app and the updated THETA+ apps are available as a free download in the Apple App Store now. The video app is currently compatible with the iPhone 5S and newer models but Ricoh says it is planning to make an Android version available in 2016.
