iOS 7 is going to give Apple's mobile operating system a complete overhaul.

Apple fans are gearing up for a series of announcements next month. While some hardware announcements are imminent, iOS users have also been anxiously awaiting the public release of the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system.

iOS 7 was revealed at WWDC in June and developers have been playing with the beta version ever since. According to one developer, iOS 7 will be released in conjunction with the suspected new iPhone(s) on Sept. 10.

As reported by The Verge, Nuance — the company behind sassy Siri's speech recognition — has (allegedly) spilled the beans.

An email from Nuance reads: "As you are probably aware, iOS 7 GA will be released on September 10th."

While Nuance's slip may be enough for some tech news outlets to report a "maybe" story, some are skeptical that Nuance would be clued in on Apple's release date.

One thing is certain: as soon as Apple's ready to talk, we will be here to show you what the news means for mobile photographers.
