Apple confirms product launch event for March 8
Apple has confirmed it will be holding a product launch event six days from now, on March 8, 2022. Apple doesn’t tease, let alone specify, what product lines will be updated, but if recent rumors from trusted insiders are anything to go by we can expect to see a new entry-level iPhone, an updated iPad Air and at least one new Mac computer.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who is known for his usually-reliable insights on what Apple is working on and releasing, suggests we’ll be seeing a new 5G iPhone SE model and an updated iPad Air. Gurman says he’s also been ‘told to expect at least one new Mac [on March 8].’ As for what computer Apple could be announcing, Gurman believes we could see an updated version of Apple’s M1 Mac Mini or an updated entry-level MacBook Pro, both of which are the oldest Apple silicon-powered computers in Apple’s lineup.
In addition to the teaser video, Apple also shared an augmented reality (AR) easter egg that shows the repeating Apple logo shown off in the short 15-second teaser. To see this, go to Apple’s Events page on a compatible iPhone or iPad and tap on the event logo at the top of the page to activate the AR easter egg.
