Hard to tell from the review I posted. He says it's worse than the XT-2. Don't know, however, if its better than the x100T.

This obsession with autofocus speed is quite remarkable. I suggest a treatment: using manual focus for a few months. It wouldn't impair your photography, since 99% of pictures I see published could have been taken in manual focus, with the same ease.

People get carried away with professional grade camera and image quality.
Yet, most rely on the cameras decisions almost all the time (metering and auto-focus). So basically, point - and shot :)

I really try to learn how to use my camera and find shortcuts. Focusing is one. I missed some images, to be honest, but mostly because I was to hysteric trying to have the capture.
Keeping calm, set the camera perfectly and learn to anticipating the right moment is a wonderful experience (I had with the X100T. your mileage may vary)

35mm is way to see the world and a way to tell it.

I use A7RII and I never ever take of FE 35 1.4

I have an interchangeable lens camera, X-Pro1, but only one lens, 35 mm.
What does it make me? It's almost as having X100.

Well. You can always buy the WA and Tele add-on lenses. I had a X100T with both of them. Worked great. Can get quite expensive though.. But, they're high quality lenses.

I did realise that, thanks, but the camera does lose it's svelteness with the big screw-in lens. Still an option though.

We all know that and it's not relevant anyway. Why would Murat try to confuse the topic (and his/her maths is a bit casual anyway! Equally 23x2=46. So what?). I'm talking about the Fuji X100 series which don't have 35mm sensors. Read my second paragraph in my first post above!

With this size sensor, a focal length of around 30mm is close to the perspective of your naked eye and 34mm gives the field of view which is considered "standard" in photography. That's the sort of focal length some of us would like, on a compact body like this. The 23mm is a modest wide angle, which I don't want as it's too wide for most things and too narrow when I actually want to go wide.

The 35mm equivalent angle of view is my favorite... Horses for courses. I would have zero interest if this camera had a 50mm or 28mm equivalent angle of view. This is a highly specific tool, perfect for some, and not even on the consideration list for many. I am just glad Fuji still supports this kind of endeavor.

see, there are 35mm people, 28m people, a lot of 50mm people, some folks who use 24mm and even weird people who shot predominantly with 21mm or heck, even 75mm! can you believe it?

35mm works very well for me. It is a compromise.
Sure it's not wide enough for architecture and not narrow enough for more compressed images. But then you would need 2 cameras/lenses - say 24mm and 50mm. Even then will there be people, who want wider/longer lenses.

Fuji stood out and made more waves.
The Pens were only styled retro, didn't change a lot in terms of handling and the M8 was 6500$, almost 6x of the X100!!
So yes, the Fuji is here for a reason, not the Pen and not the M8.

I think Leica is getting plenty of buzz for the M10 (and in fact gets plenty of buzz for everything it does). Retro cameras do get a disproportionate amount of buzz to be sure (cough, Nikon Df, cough), but I think the key to Fuji's success is that it makes good cameras and good lenses, isn't crazy expensive (as you point out), and the retro stuff is just icing on the cake. If Fuji made a good modern design side-by-side with its retro cameras (e.g. consider Leica's interesting but flawed TL cameras which were at least an attempt to create a truly modern camera) I imagine it would do well too.

That's strange. Your comment didn't show up here until I wrote a similar thing twelve hours later! Anyway, I fully agree - assuming you mean somewhere around 34mm to equate to 50mm on a film camera?

There is an adaptor but it adds cost and a lot of bulk, which defeats the purpose completely.

Some dust in an optical viewfinder is normal and has always been.

They have used the S, T and now the F. There are still 23 more unused letters in the alphabet. Seriously, the 100F seems to be an appealing camera. But as KISAP indicates, there are some possible enhancements including faster lens, weather sealing, touch screen, 4k video, more mpx, tilt screen, and my addition: IBIS.

It would be nice to have IBIS but if I have to take only one, I would rather get f1.4. I don't want the camera to get too heavy and big, F1.4 will probably add quite a bit of weight. Changing the design of the lens would in my mind qualify for a complete name change to X200, so we don't have to worry about V as real V or V as fifth.

I would doubt it that fuji would produce compacts with a different FOV than the X100.

But where should you end it? Sigma has now 4! different compacts to have everybody happy.

No. 35mm equv. only, the rest can use Fujis ILCs with tons of lens options!

Problems with the X-Trans files seem to have only people who do not own the fuji cameras. Strange, huh?
When I print my 16MP X100T files, I am quite happy about it.
I am also happy while taking it :)

There won't be a larger X70, but you can attach a grip to it. Or you can get an X100 and put the wide angle lens on it.

Tapper123 the main issue for me has been dust in the viewfinder. Never had any in the lens personally.

In normal use, dust will get in the viewfinder. Theres no way around it. If you can live with some dust/lint in the VF then is a great camera.

The dust does not affect image quality. The most basic primary level knowledge in photography.

Horrible, brain dead marketing. i, ii, iii, iv, etcetera make far more sense.

Stevo - the X series and GFX have very little in common, when it comes to industrial design and styling. We might like or not, this is personal. Definitely not intending to hurt anyone. In my mind, the X and GFX are worlds apart...
