Introduced at Photokina 2014, the Panasonic Lumix CM1 Android smartphone boasts a 20MP 1-inch type sensor with an f/2.8 lens. Originally only announced for France and Germany, it has been announced at CES 2015 that Panasonic’s smartphone creation will be making it to American shores later this year.

Gizmodo has reported that the Lumix CM1 will be sold unlocked for $1,000, and will be compatible with both AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Beyond offering a sensor the same size as Nikon’s 1 Series cameras, the Lumix smartphone will carry a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card), and a large 4.7 inch 1080p screen.

The Panasonic Lumix CM1 is scheduled to be available in the US starting summer 2015.
