With EyeEm's latest update, you can now tag your friends from social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

The Berlin-based EyeEm photo and social sharing app has been updated for iOS and Android with new upload features that expand and simplify the task by allowing users to add a caption, and upload to multiple albums at the same time. Tagging from social networks like Twitter and Facebook is now possible, too. EyeEm is also introducing trio of new filters: Ailine, Capa and Clara.

With a recent infusion of a reported $6 million dollars, EyeEm can move forward with plans to expand the brand and technology. The company also plans to create a marketplace where EyeEm members can opt to put photos up for sale and potential buyers can add a request or search for the type(s) of images they need.

We've read that Florian Meissner, co-founder and CEO of EyeEm (whose start in mobile photography began when his camera was stolen on a NYC subway) believes that photographers should retain the rights to their images, which is a good thing, especially given the rights-grabbing TOS of other social networks and services. But always check those terms of service to understand where and how your images can be used. You might not get rich from the prospective EyeEm Marketplace, but some of the images we've seen from EyeEm members look good enough to earn a few extra dollars when (if) this stock photo arm of the company is implemented.
