Instagram is starting to look a lot more Facebook-y. With the latest update, Instagram users can tag people within photos instead of relying on comments for all photo information.
From the Instagram Blog:
Photos are memories of the people, places and moments that mean the most to us. We have always sought to give you simple and expressive ways to bring the stories behind your photos to life. Your captions and hashtags capture the “what?” and your Photo Map answers the “where?” but until today we’ve never quite been able to answer the “who?”
Unlike Facebook, you can tag non-people Instagram accounts, too — businesses, pets and products will all be tag-able. When you get tagged, that photo will reside in a new Photos of You section on your Instagram profile. If you don't like the newly tagged photo, you can deny the tag. Other users will be able to see the Photos of You feature on your account starting May 16. Instagram's offering online help about the new feature and how to control your account's visibility at help.instagram.com.
