This is my work. My family is my life.
We're looking for two software development engineers, freelance writers and a marketing expert to join our team in Seattle, WA and help build the next generation of dpreview's content and community tools (and of course, get to play with all the latest photo gear). Check out the details on our jobs page.
You may have already noticed that following a few weeks of tweaking and bug squashing we’ve extended the new ‘light’ theme to the forums and deployed a new unified header that is shared between both dark and light versions of the site. The beta pop-up has been banished from the site and a new permanent ‘Reading Mode’ switch placed at the top right corner of the site. Find out more and share your thoughts after the click.
We've been working behind the scenes for the last few weeks on one of the most-requested changes to DPReview.com - the option to switch to a lighter color scheme with white background. Today we're pleased to be able to launch the first phase of this project as a public beta. It doesn't yet include every page on the site (we've concentrated on the text-heavy articles, news, homepage and reviews sections), but we will continue to work until we have as near to 100% coverage as possible. Please try it out and let us know what you think!
The entire team at DPReview would like to wish all our readers Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, Merry Christmas or whatever you say in your part of the world. We've had another busy year, and have some exciting plans for 2016, including our bi-annual visit to the camera and wurst-fest that is Photokina. Wherever you are, and whatever you're doing today, enjoy yourselves and thank you for being a part of dpreview.com!
Pre-registration has opened for our photography expo, PIX 2015 - the photo interactive experience in Seattle on October 6&7. A limited number of FREE passes are available for the main hall, where you'll find photography experiences, educational programming, product demos, panel discussions, and brand and partner booths. For a limited time we're also offering an early bird special on PIX VIP All-Access Passes, which includes Hall Pass plus all re:FRAME talks and galleries at McCaw Hall, and the exclusive PIX awards and cocktail party. DPReview attended the Photokina trade show last week in Cologne Germany. As well as getting our hands on this season's newest photo gear we also sat down with executives from several major camera manufacturers. One of them was Masaya Maeda of Canon. Our time with Mr Maeda was brief, but in our conversation he shared reactions to the 7D Mark II, and explained that Canon is very serious about mirrorless, and is also committed to making higher-resolution sensors.
