About me:
I've been actively engaged in photography for about 35 years, the past 20 as a professional. I studied photography at the Institute for Contemporary Photography in Tokyo and the International Center of Photography in New York, have photos in the permanent collection at the Kiyosato Museum of Photography in Japan, have taught photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the International Center of Photography in New York, co-founded event photography company Happening Photos in New York, and serve clients around the world. I also shoot, print, exhibit and sell fine art travel & landscape photos. |

Worth the price. Very sharp edge-to-edge, even wide open.

Other gear:
- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC
- Apple Mac Pro 8-core
- Apple MacBook Pro 13"
- Benro BH1 ballhead Great budget ballhead that locks firmly and doesn't slip. Plates also fit the Benro DJ80 tilthead I use on my monopod and the Oben QRA-R2 QR assembly I use on my flash brackets. This allows me to mount my camera on my tripod, monopod or flash bracket with the same plate.
- Benro DJ80 tilthead (for monopod) Great head for a monopod. Plates also fit the Benro BH1 ballhead I use on my tripod and the Oben QRA-R2 QR assembly I use on my flash brackets. This allows me to mount my camera on my tripod, monopod or flash bracket with the same plate.
- Benro Travel Angel A1690T tripod Good compromise between ultralight and full-size. Reaches eye level, very compact, full-featured, and sturdy enough for a DSLR + medium zoom. Perfect for MFT and travel. Nicely designed, finished and built.
- DxO PhotoLab 3 Elite
- DxO Viewpoint 3 I use Lightroom for DAM and selective adjustments and DxO OP for RAW conversion because DxO extracts detail while surpassing noise better than any RAW converter I've tried. DxO OP integrates nicely into a Lightroom workflow.
- Flashpoint Bridge R2 Receiver for Non-R2 Streaklights For Witstro AD360
- Flashpoint R1 Commander Transmitter and Receiver Set (x3)
- Flashpoint R2 Bridge Receiver for Non-R2 Zoom Li-on Speedlights (x2) For Godox V850
- Flashpoint R2 TTL Transmitter (x3)
- Flashpoint Zoom Li-ion R2 TTL (x2)
- Flashpoint Zoom-Mini TTL R2 (x3)
- Giottos YTL 9284 tripod 4-section aluminum tripod for $179 that goes up to 70", collapses down to 20" and weighs just 3.8 lbs. The tallest, smallest & lightest 'pod for under $200. Love it.
- Godox V850 flash (x2)
- Godox Witstro AD360 barebulb batt-pack powered flash Li-ion battery pack yields 450 full-power pops with a 4.5-second recycle. Optional 2-port Y-cable cuts recycle in half. Radio trigger enables adjustment of off-camera flash output from camera position. Bare bulb provides 360-degree output and fills large mods evenly without a power-robbing white dome. A game changer.
- LowPro rolling backpack Sturdy, versatile bag. I use mine a ton, mostly as a rolling case, but it's handy to be able to sling it on my back to free up my hands for other bags when I'm doing a big location job.
- Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head Great for very precise framing.
- Manfrotto 685B NeoTec Monopod Fantastic when you need to quickly raise or lower your camera. I shoot events and often need to crouch down out of sight, then pop up for a few shots, then drop back down. With this 'pod, I just squeeze the grip to drop, then pull up to raise. One-handed, and no futzing with locks.
- Metz 28 CS-2 flash Tiny wireless off-camera flash. Great for use with compact camera.
- Metz 54MZ-3 flash Extremely versatile, durable and reliable. Manual, auto & TTL output control.
- NEC PA243W 24" display
- NEC PA322UHD 32" display
- Nik Collection - plugins
- Oben QRA-R2 Quick Release Assembly with RP-20 Plate Plates are interchangeable with Benro's PH-08 plate for the BH-1-M ballhead I use on my tripod and the DJ-80 tilthead I use on my monopod. This allows me to mount my camera on my tripod, monopod or flash bracket with the same plate.
- Panasonic FL360L flash
- Photoflex Transpac Single Kit Case My one-bag location studio. This rolling case holds my 2 MFT cameras & 5 lenses, 3-4 flashes, 3-4 small-to-medium stands & 'pods, grip stuff, 2 umbrellas & 2 softboxes. Very sturdy.
- Pixelmator Powerful, dirt-cheap and user-friendly pixel editor.
- Tamrac 3444 Rally 4 Camera Bag Well-priced and proportioned for Micro Four Thirds. Makes a great every-day bag.
- Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/CF Cards
