Sorry.... I submitted my entries without a border. It must be difficult Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, when you keep on receiving these entries without those elegant borders. I could tell by the tone of your message that it must be very upsetting for you, and yes I did read the title etc. but then for various reasons still forgot to add that border... very bad.... May I suggest that if these things are upsetting you so much, perhaps you could take a rest from being a host, or maybe drop the border. I could have just added a border, but at this stage I couldn't be bothered. All the best with your challenge.

Kerry Pierce: Well captured! It's an excellent photo and it's humorous as well. :-) I wish it were mine. I'd print it large and hang it.

Thanks Kerry, glad you like my frog...

RuthC: Congratulations, photoman555, on your excellent photo of this green tree frog, hanging out to dry.... It deserves top place in this 'Frogs' challenge. The colours, contrasts and textures of this popular Australian frog are very appealing. You've captured this image well.
RuthC :-)

Thank you Ruth, it's always pleasing to do well in your challenges, as the standard of the entries is always so very high.

RuthC: This is a wonderfully delicate picture, photoman555, and it has given you second place as well in this Fern Fronds challenge. I really like the whimsy of the whole photo; everything is in sharp detail, and the graceful curves of the three branches offer us a beautiful, harmonious image to appreciate.
RuthC :-)

Thanks again Ruth..... What a surprise... a 1, 2 finish, that's a first for me...
Very pleased to do so well with the number of high caliber entries in your challenges Ruth.

In reply to:

RuthC: Congratulations, photoman555, on your win in the 'Fern Fronds' challenge with this excellent capture of an extremely hairy fern frond, just before it unfurls itself and becomes a long, graceful fern leaf. I know how difficult it is to keep all of the subject in focus, from the neat curls hidden in the frond, to the hirsute outer spiral. Great contrasting colours and textures make this a well-deserved winner.
RuthC :-)

Thank you Ruth, it was a bit of a challenge to keep the frond as sharp as possible, and still blur the background. I tried several shots at different apertures, but this shot stuck the right balance for me.
