Marcos Villaroman's current gear

Fujifilm X100S
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 (Lumix DMC-TZ100)
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 (Lumix DMC-TZ30)
This camera really got me excited about photography again. Having a fixed lens was really liberating.
Excellent image stabilzation and does well in low light. Does have focusing issues in very low light.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV
Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Really expensive. Good enough optically to serve as my standard zoom; lets me take more primes. After a few years, the lens cover is starting to malfunction; Sony charges $300 for repair. Recommend buying extended warranty.
Great camera in its day. Performs really well today except for poor high ISO performance
Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Fujifilm X-E1
Fujifilm X-E2
Poor low light AF makes it a poor second body
Fujifilm X-H1
Fujifilm X-T1
Fujifilm X-T2
DSLR-shape good for handling longer/heavier lens. The EVF is a joy to use.
Fujifilm X-T20
Olympus PEN E-PL1
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5
Small size with current sensor. Would be perfect if it had AF joystick.
Bought refurb to try M43. Hate the slow "clunk"as it takes a picture
Should have bought a GX1 for $50 more at the time.
Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
This is light and small. It's a longer version of the 85/1.8, but, has better bokeh
Great deal if you don't need to shoot f/2.8 all day.
Canon EF 24-70mm F2.8L II USM
Canon EF 35mm F1.4L USM
Canon EF 35mm F2.0
Love the image quality.
Great lens; just not as good as the newer Sigma and 35/2 IS. Good enough that I won't bothering upgrading.
Even though I got 35L, I'm keeping this because it is so small and light
Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8L IS II USM
Hardly ever use it because of overlap with other lens; take with me everywhere because I keep forgetting its in the camera bag.
Works great. Take care to retract before storing it to avoid banging front element. Focuses more accurately than Sigma 50/1.4.
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
Canon EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM
Favoriite portrait lens. Definitely a specialty lens since it focuses so slowly.
Canon EF-S 10-22mm F3.5-4.5 USM
Canon Extender EF 1.4x II
Canon Extender EF 2x II
According to reviews, the mk III isn't worth it
Wish it was a Mk III, but, don't use enough to warrant the $$$
Fujifilm XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR
Fujifilm XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS
Fujifilm XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR
Fujifilm XF 16mm F1.4 R WR
Fujifilm XF 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR
Fujifilm XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS
No brainer when bought bundled. The combination of focal range, OIS, and decent optical quality makes it hard to replace.
Fujifilm XF 23mm F1.4 R
Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR
Fujifilm XF 27mm F2.8
Compact. Decently sharp. Wish it were faster. Bought on sale for $200. Plan on using it when I want a short lens on the X-T1.
Fujifilm XF 35mm F1.4 R
Fujifilm XF 35mm F2 R WR
Fujifilm XF 50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR
Fujifilm XF 50mm F2 R WR
Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS
Fujifilm XF 56mm F1.2 R
Fujifilm XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro
Fujifilm XF 90mm F2 R LM WR
Panasonic Lumix G 20mm F1.7 ASPH
Favorite affordable lens for M43.
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm F4-5.6 OIS
Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS
Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II
Great range and reasonable aperture for a cheap telephoto zoom. Optical quality of a cheap consumer zoom.
Bought for very small size. Does have issues at certain shutter speeds (very annoying).
Like it better than the Epson wide printer it replaced (ink carts don't dry out as quickly).
Adobe Photoshop CS6
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5
Phase One Capture One Express 7
The last version of Photoshop I'll ever buy?
Not much better than LR4, but, since I'm not upgrading Photoshop...
Samsung Galaxy S4
Google Nexus 7
Samsung Tab S 10.5
2013 edition great when compared to WiFi iPad Mini.
Other gear:
  • ASUS T100
  • Nexus 7 (2013)
  • PictureCode Photo Ninja
  • Rokinon 14mm F2.8 IF ED MC Best $300 I've ever spent on a DSLR lens.
