Medium format does not seem have much advantage in this type of casual shooting.

Too redundant.
Maybe this strategy can increase sales.

Autriche78: Good for Canon, but can someone explain why every manufacturer seems to desire to confuse the consumer with model numbers that bear no obvious relation to hierarchy within a system? So this is below the 5 but above the 3 - and labelled as #6. Seriously...

“I think there's no M4 because the number four is an unlucky number in Chinese, since it sounds like "deceased" or similar. ”
What is going on with 5Dmark4 then.....

John Koch: Lots of interesting basketball shots to assess the AF and burst performance. Too bad no companion video shots of the same action. The sole video sample involves face recognition of a stationary subject.

DPR gives the a99ii a respectable score of 85, despite repeated, blurry misgivings about the AF. Is the score good because of other strengths? Or is the AF really on par for its class after all? Exactly how does the a99ii AF rank relative to the a7rii, 5Div, D810, or perhaps the a6500 or OM-D EM1ii?

A FF camera that shoots its best video in APS-c mode is a nagging paradox.

It looks like from DPR staff's comment below that they believe A7R2 has a better focusing system than A99II, and that is the information they want to convey in this review.
I strongly suggest they learn more about how to use this camera, and perform all the testing again.

I thought the earthquake would have give a much stronger negative impact on sony's sale number this year.

citrate: So, Canon's first mirrorless camera falls short, again. Not to mention its overprice comparing to the competition.
I am wondering how it deserves a silver, considering DPreview's recent score of other cameras.

Sorry. I meant first "serious" mirrorless camera, according to DPreview's twitter account.
