If nothing else it's nice to see a new camera launched. They're getting pretty rare these days. . .

'Static contrast 4000:1' so this means resorting to back-light switching trickery for anything that moves on the screen. OLED is the only way to go. Is this just a stop gap product?

For landscape I agree, Sony is neutral, no complaints, but skin tones just never look quite right (to my eyes).

A tad too saturated maybe, but as a Sony user, I'm afraid I agree:(

Pangasinan2: Back in the 70's 'Amateur Photographer' had contributor Vic Blackman, who worked for Daily Express.
He was the one using Canon when all the other pros used Nikon.
I trusted his judgement and went along with Canon which used bayonet lens mounts before the other manufacturers caught up.

Hey, I remember Vic as well. Went to one of his 'talks', informative and funny with it. A real press photographer. I think my camera then was a Canon 35RC.

Canon are just ten feet from the ground and have just decided that opening the parachute would be benificial;)

Nano_Shutter: 16-bits ADC these days can easily do 200-KSPS. So does that mean we'll start seeing cameras shutter speeds in the range of 1/500,000th ??

Photograph during the day maybe!

I guess somebody here is going to say they can achieve that with their iPhone!

BeaverTerror: No surprises here. Macs have always been the Leicas of computers. A reasonable product with a number of perks and an equal number of shortcomings, marketed at exorbitant prices for people willing to part with money in exchange for intellectual masturbation.

Maybe intellectual is not the word. Style?

Intellectual definition:
'A person educated above their intelligence'

Here's a hand held, test video from the Zeiss 135/2 APO.

Focusing is tricky, but it's worth it.

CyeJoeBob: Nice image quality, but it's still a camera with a lot of wasted potential. It's nothing special about this camera and at this price point I expect something special.

The already 3 years old Panasonic LX100 has a much more interesting feature set with more interesting lens. The RX100 IV/V has slow motion. RX10 III/IV advanced video features and great zoom range.

The Canon G1X III could have been something to close the gap between the RX100 and RX10. Better handling, with mic jack and weather sealing in a more compact and lightweight body. But they wasted the potential. Hopefully the upcoming Panasonic LX200 (if it's coming) will close this gap.

@Kobakokh Absolutely agree, my LX100 sees more action than my Sony A7R2. It's just so infuriatingly good:)

Mightilyl impressed how they squeeze that incredible bandwith through copper. However, you would have thought fibre would have been the way to go?

D200_4me: Settle down kids. It's just a camera. Either you like it, need it or want it..or you don't. Life goes on. I personally love both FF and m4/3. I may buy a Sony FF sometime in the near future (was about to, but something came up so I canceled the order). Anyway, I have a gallery full of m4/3 images from the GH5 I'm extremely happy with AND I love the larger size of the body. It's a joy to hold and use. It's one of the most perfect camera bodies I've ever used with regard to the number of physical buttons, where they are placed and all the other customization options and overall feature set. I haven't found anything yet that left me thinking "Dang...I wish it could..." For now it's me and my GH5 and a FF Nikon Df. Still also waiting to see what Nikon is up to with FF mirrorless. If they wait too long, I'll be a Sony a7 owner.

Had the A7RII for two years now and still don't like the grip, so try before you buy. It goes without saying, image IQ top notch and pretty decent video.

Bambi24: the standard windows 10 photo app that starts when opening JPEG / PNG / TIFF and RAW

-change white balance
-change saturation
-change contrast
-change brightness
-change sharpness
-change highlight / shadow exposure
-fix vignetting
-fix red eye flash artefact

it can do pretty much what any casual photographer needs

Have to agree, it's surprisingly effective.
