For a person who never really liked putting the final tissue paper on my model aeroplanes, I really love that industrial look . . .

Funny how Panasonic give you everything including the kitchen sink, but with miserly Canon you are lucky if they include the sensor. . .

You can't fool us Olympus, this huge body was obviously engineered for a FF sensor.

Half an inch of snow or just a single drone bring the UK to a standstill. Hard Brexit yeh right. . .

This is getting really annoying, seeing yet another impressive lens for the EOS R. I'm trying so hard not to like this damn camera, but these alluring images keep comming!

Very very nice, but I have to say from the images posted here, the EOS R coupled with the 50mm F/1.2 has superior colour and contrast.

Retzius: I can't wait until the reviews come out and some old codger on Youtube is mumbling about micro-contrast and 3D pop while examining pictures he took of his cat and bird feeder.

That's me in a nut shell...lol

The current S2's viewfinder is gorgeous. I can't see how the S3 could improve on it.

Come on Olympus, stop dithering and throw your hat in the ring. It would be the icing on the cake:)

Maybe not now, but CD DFD can only get better with the promise of the exceptional processing power of multicore processors from the unstoppable mobile phone market. It may even surpass PD . . .

RMGoodLight: I dunno if I compare the sample gallery of the new Canon 50mm 1.2 and this Sony 24mm 1.4 the Canon wins hands down. Sony might have improved theyr image colors but it still can't beat Canon in this regard.

I only look at image colors. I know its not a fair comparison 50mm vs. 24mm.

@milkod2001
I have the Sony 55mm/F1.8 FE. It's needle sharp but it's left for dead when comparing contrast and colour against my Zeiss Otus 85/F1.4. I've seen many excellent samples from the Sony 50mm/1.4 FE but I've a hunch that the Canon will prove to be the better lens. But you're right a controlled comparison would be very interesting.

Have to agree, from these samples the Canon 50mm F1.2L looks to have far better contrast and colour than this Sony offering. In fact I'm wondering whether the Canon would challenge my Otus.

Damn you Canon. You launch a new camera and through your shear bloody mindedness forget to include IBIS and then give it a laughable 4K 1.8 crop. Then guess what, you tempt us with a new 50mm F1.2L with stunning contrast and beautiful colour. I give up ;)

Here in the UK Sony has just knocked off £600 from A9 and £300 from A7RIII. Competition at last:)

Make sure it's a stonker Nikon, the market needs it to be. . .

Stunning colour and contrast, topped off with buttery smooth bokeh. Leica really pulled one out of the hat here. . .

My guess is that this lens will be compatible with their imminent mirrorless body and the old Mkll will not.
