outer segment: Cool spider portrait!
The creature is well placed in the picture (2/3rd "rule") and looks at us, its eyes are perfectly in focus while fore- and background are nicely blurred. In my personal ranking, it took third place in this challenge, gave it 4.0 stars. Why do some give a 1.0 or 0.5 star rating to this?
You are welcome :) Keep enjoying & Good Light!

Erland Nielsen: Thank you for bringing my minifigure space suit design into space :-)
It also made it to the Space Station about a year ago.
Great job on the design of that minifigure space suit. It looks so realistic, it actually should not surprise me that it really went into space! ;-) Very impressive, congratulations!
Thank you all for the nice comments and the congrats! I'd also like to thank everyone who took the time out and voted on my image.

outer segment: "...every sea-living organism bar grasses and algae, is an animal" - sorry, but that's simply wrong.
What about fungi (>1500 marine species known)? What about bacteria (a huge part of the biomass in the sea)? What about the whole kingdom of the archaea? ...
I see your point. Must say, I do look forward to see the entries in this challenge. Thank you for hosting and for putting all that effort into it.
