On article Should you upgrade to a Nikon D850? (659 comments in total)

aramgrg: Upgrade from D500... WTH? That's a camera for totally different audience. Good that we don't get an "Upgrade from KeyMission 360" page.

Actually you have to consider that the D850 in DX mode does 19.4 mp @ 7fps (9fps with grip and D5 battery), while the D500 does 20.9 mp @10fps. So the difference, with the grip, is 1.5mp and 1-3 fps. Plus the D850 could be shot in native FX mode and easily cropped. So for someone with the budget, looking at the D850 as a replacement upgrade for the D500 isn't too far fetched.

On article Hands-on with the Nikon D5 (398 comments in total)

Does the D5 use the same battery door (BL-6) as the D4S, as well as the same battery. Just want to know if the extra BL-6 I have for my D4S will also work with the D5.

Andreas Voigt: I want that sensor in a D700 type body (or even lighter and smaller body)

Take a look at the D500. Basically the same specs in a DX sensor and in a smaller body.

Does Adobe offer any sort of "Upgrade Insurance" for people who just purchased LR3 less than a month ago? Some companies will not charge for the upgrade for new users who purchased the then current version just prior to the release. Does Adobe do this?

I bought LR3 from Adorama just a couple of weeks ago. If I had known that LR4 would be released this soon, I would have waited to purchase.

If Sigma has any real hope of selling large quantities of this camera, then they will have to offer it in a Nikon and Canon lens mount version. People have large investments in their lens systems, either Nikon or Canon. Sigma should leverage those bases by doing what they do with their lenses, make the camera available to be compatible with the two largest lens bases. Only then will the camera be given a hard look by people with other camera systems.

On article Nikon D4 overview (839 comments in total)

The chart right above the Image Processing Features section isn't labeled. I'm hoping it is the RAW file buffer size. If that is true, then this camera has a nice jump in buffer size.

I wish the Camera had retained two CF card slots and added the XQD as a third. I don't even think anyone has an XQD card available yet, so that means for early adopters they are reduced to just one usable card slot.
