sean000: I think this is a sign that Google is preparing to integrate Nik-like development capabilities into Picasa (or perhaps a "Picasa-Pro" premium version). Step 1: Get the Lightroom users hooked on all the Nik products. Step 2: Offer a new premium Picasa application that has the organizational and workflow features of Lightroom, but with the Nik products fully integrated. Throw in huge amounts of online storage for a premium Google Drive / Google+ account. Step 3: Make it possible to go cloud-based with full features. Google has doing a lot to make Google+ attractive to serious photographers, so it only makes sense that they want to compete with Adobe (at least Lightroom), and offer the kind of cloud-based (and potentially collaborative) experience currently lacking from Lightroom. That said I love using Lightroom (as well as my Nik plugins), so I will wait until Google offers me a Terabyte of online storage and I have the bandwidth to use it.

Think "chromebook Pixel" they didn't build such awesome hardware for nothing ;-)

Adam Filipowicz: A few nice shots.. but considering his reputation and ability to basically travel anywhere this series wasn't very inspiring or really made me appreciate kodachrome,, colors were not that great

I miss Velvia.

To those who complain about the quality of the equipment, go look at some Ansel adams stuff. Besides, the goal is a little more altruistic, for the benefit of mankind, not so NASA could enter a DPreview "Challenge".

So far they are the ones taking the best pictures of Mars on location.

I could buy a brand new OMD-5 with that money... difficult choice, especially since I own GH2

It's too close in size to my K5. My K5 is actually pretty compact for an SLR. I am keeping the K5. With the $800 I can buy another "limited " lens

Looks weird and out of place. If you want a great slr form factor, get a K5 or D7000 or A65. If you want a small sensor camera get an X10. If you want medium priced but great quality, get M43 gear or Nex5n/7.

EOS Photographer: Canon could step in cheap for a mirrorles system that is quite popular.
The future of Olympus seems extremely grim as from today.

Not me, I'm keeping my gear. Works great, love the Jpegs. Plus I want to support Olympus especially in this difficult times.

Nikon should still try to make the digital equivalent of the old "35 Ti" , with a slightly larger sensor, or APSC. It would kill everything out there... (and I don't own a single piece of Nikon gear)
