Aroart: Wake up and smell the coffee.. Canon did what they've done for the last 10 years.. They made a great camera for photography and held video back a bit ... Have you guys been living in your moms basement to long.. Anyone that has been upset over this should get a life..

Its physics, not Canon holding back video features.

Sharif: „Everything you need to know“ : $8,295

HowaboutRAW: Well, thats your imagination. What if I meant to say that this is an amazing price for such a capable photographic tool? In fact, I do believe that it is probably a great camera if price is not your main concern. It will attract real photographers as well as people who wish to distinguish themselves from the masses by showing they can afford it.

Ahhhh 10D, my first DSLR. Took it to Cuba in August 2004: https://www.flickr.com/photos/-sharif-/albums/691147

Lovely Camera, great color reproduction, a bit slow on the startup and it couldn't take EF-S lenses as this mount was introduced with the 20D if I remember correctly. So I used the 17-40mm f/4L as my wide/standard zoom and the 85/1.8 and 200/2.8 if I needed tele.

miric: I’m curious what held them back to add that BR element to EF 85/1.4L IS along with EF 35/1.4L II? It might be greater lens.

product differentiation?

I just bought a phantastic looking Pentax Spotmatic F in full working condition and I am outraged that you chose the K1000 over the Spotmatic F in your list of most important Pentax cameras ;-)

Given the bad finances of Flickr I just paid for a pro account for the first time after using the site since 2005 with varying intensity. I really like Flickr and its APIs for integration with other services. Just a few suggestions how I think the overall experience could be improved:
1) I think Flickr should try to implement a better timeline of activities. the "Explore" page doesn't change the whole day. Give us a timeline with all new posts from your friends and groups plus interactions by friends. show what they favored or what they commented on. This would largely improve community feeling.
2) Integrate the (help) forum into the site
3) I live in Austria and whenever an ad is supposed to pop up a blank page appears. no ad and it just looks like a site loading failure.

Canon EOS-M system was so much in need of a proper 50-60mm lens and now it is here. I got the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 as soon as it was available in Vienna and couldn't be happier with it.

Great article. gorgeous pictures. Gearheads will probably not understand but the current Canon M lineup is just perfect for travel photographers. I bought an M5 two years ago since I got tired of lugging my 5D with lenses around and there has not been a single day of regret since that day.

Sharif: How can the lens collection be a disadvantage for the RP compared to the 6 if it can use all EF lenses with the adaptor?

Slatts-from-Oz, no, each RF lens is a unique advantage of R cameras and I think it gets more and more clear that this mount offers advantages in the possibilities it opens for lens design. At the Same time you can use any EF lens on the R just like on the 6, no difference there. Thats my point.

You are giving up part of the size advantage using the adaptor but still retaining some of it. Being able to use both, tailored RF lenses and easily available EF lenses with the adaptor with full functionality is one of the main advantages of the R (and also M) system in my opinion.

what a refreshing contrast to the "dynamic range rules/you have to bring out maximum information from what is in the shadows" mantra which seems to have taken over thinking of most of the gear focussed crowd.

G3 was a really nice camera. my first digital camera after years of snapping analogue with a Lomo LC-A and then Canon EOS 300 (analogue). It was a capable and compact compagnion on trips to Lisbon and NYC in 2003:
