yukosteel: Just tried this lens on Fuji X recently, and here is my review:
https://yukosteel.wordpress.com/2021/04/22/ttartisan-50mm-f1-2-lens-review-fuji-x-mount/
I've also made a short disassembly of the focusing mechanics - it's classic helicoid design with outer aluminum thread and inner anodized aluminum, the thread precision is very high there, and quite thick precise brass guiders are used. Mount ring is made of light alloy or aluminum as well. Cylinders are thick and very well machined, so this lens mechanics should last for a long time. Whole optical core is embedded into a single case, so accessing aperture chamber is difficult, and I didn't manage to open a front area yet - nameplate ring sits too firm (probably glued).

Thank you for sharing!
I will get it for my S1R.

sev7en: Hello,
interested on that but... for the Panasonic S1R and the RW2 which one is the tool you suggest for RAW editing? I am now with LR and have to renew the subscription but if I can get something better, happy to pay a different product.
I don't need the library management features.

Thanks to all, I am surprised no one is using DxO PhotoLab

Hello,
I have a question... a clarification about the Metering in Spot Mode.
With my Sigma sd Quattro I can focus manually on a subject then select and lock via joy the spot point. I frequently use that technic to create dramatic contrast where the details should be boosted.
I looked for a similar feature for the S1R and if I am not wrong it should be the function called 1 Spot Metering.
I mapped that function to a button but really... I don't how it works.

Someone can give me more information about that?

Thanks!

HJVN: Other sites are starting to report the prize of the Panasonic S5, at intro, will be $1998 body only and $2298 with the kit lens.

So not right quite down at the (new) FF-MILC entry level $1000 - $1500 range.

If the price is that, it's dead on arrival.

SafariBob: Any comments on the af? Comparable to a7iii? A9? A7r3? A7r4?

The AF is far better than A7RIV and A7SIII but it is to compare with A9 series or at least I have not seen a VS today.

I do agree and I think just the rugged could survive (lol)

I am in Sydney and when I asked for the R5 last week, the reseller told me already 154 preordered (lol)

sev7en: It's always a welcome but let me say... R6 looks good but expensive and without any remarkable innovation with what already on the market. I pass, thanks.
R5 is crazy for specs but... What exactly is? Camera for still? Hybrid but camera? Something like a cinema camera?
I mean... This camera is top notch for what? I see it is like a top of specs without really a good engineering.

@RobertoAvanzi: What? I have an old Samsung NX1, I am not at all a fan-boy, just someone who looks to the sector as an amateur.

Just a question... the a99II is dead at all? It is a bit sad, really... I don't see the reason to kick out that flagship.

Spectro: is there still a market for consumer camcorder, guess there is with these but smaller then ever. Digital camera kind of killed most of those interests for a standalone camcorder.

Thanks and what's about the optical zoom? I was focused before to Panasonic but I didn't figure out which one are the real differences between the VX series and the 9xx series.

I was wondering the same with an AX55 on my hand... I guess for the rugged world are still good....

I purchased yesterday the camera as 2nd device with the current Illuminazione I have.
I'm disappointed about the lack of firmware updates... There are community of unofficial releases back I can apply to get some of VI features?
