DoctorCamel: What is "1 M" in "1 M NaCl solution" ?

The M stands for Molar. A 1 molar NaCl solution contains 58.44g (= 1 mol) NaCl per litre H2O.

IWBF: "The scale bars are 100 lm"
Does anybody know what that means?

I downloaded the paper and checked. Mystery solved: it should say microns.

A scale bare indicates distances, certainly not light intensities.

Ilia Snopchenko: 5 aperture blades sounds rather 1987 for me. Although that was the year Deep Purple released "The House of Blue Light", so I can't only complain. :)

I was thinking 80s when I saw the graphic design in the first image.

Raist3d: No, we don't. Not for all models. I applaud the focus and no frills aspect of Leica's here (perhaps other than their lenses their redeeming quality after being so expensive), and Fuji's attempt with the X-E4.

And the link between Leica and Fuji is that both have aperture control on the lenses. That is an important point that helps to unclutter the body.

PLShutterbug: What’s the audio jack for? Can one record sound on Instax prints?

Yes. And it takes time to develop so you hear the strings first, then the singers, then the trumpets and finally the drums😉

Must record video as it has an audio jack!?

Richard Kwon: Cameras and Lenses were dominated by Germany then lost it to Japan. I guess it's China's turn now. I wonder if Tokina can even compete anymore??? They were known for the cheap 3rd party lens. I wish them luck...

Indonesia?

And there is the really small, very affordable, M200 with 22mm lens.

Or Fuji XF10...

Thomas Hoven: It's a genious design. Didn't know that Nikon did NOT come up with that design. Strange that nobody picked up on this idea for digital cameras with a large sensor (minimum APS sized). I used the Nikonos with a 20 mm. Good for general UW photography, but not for macro. Wish there was a digital equivalent: Good sensor in a small body that do not need a bulky housing.

🤣

Leica X-U is waterproof to 15m depth. Fixed lens, APS-C sensor.

linux99: I have the Oly 15mm f/8 bodycap lens. Very similar idea.

This type of fixed focus lens are a lot of fun for street shooting! Put them on a smaller body and pretend you're one of the old "f/8 and be there!" rapportage photographers of old.

Awesome!

The Oly 15mm is not fixed focus...
