I was going to stay with my F-mount lenses when I got my Z9. My F-mount 24-70mm f/2.8 broke, so I replaced it with the Z version. Two months later I had all my old F-mount lenses replaced. Yeah, ...

The demand for the 200-600mm will obviously be high, especially if the price is right. Nikon will have to have the capacity to manufacture that many lenses fast, or otherwise this forum will be ...

Yes, it does make sense because it has always been that way. Good prime lenses have always been a multiple of the most affordable bodies in their lineup. I see how they need to do more affordable ...

I don't have the 800 or the 100-400, but I do have the 400mm f/4.5 with the TC1.4 and TC2. It makes for an amazingly high-quality, light, and versatile (400 / 560 / 800mm) set. You do need enough ...

You have to use manual focus, and prefocus on the position where you think the snail is going to be by the time you figured out which damn button takes the picture. I also found it's much easier if ...

Like clockwork, another Z9 firmware update, another complaints thread about the mythical Z6ii/Z7ii update. I wish dpreview would make a separate forum for these complaints. Just to make it clear, I ...

I use Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz Photo AI to develop and edit my images.

That's a great picture. I can see your kid is just as thrilled as mine when it comes to being the test subject for a new lens.

I took a day off to photograph some birds where I live. I can't get over how sharp the 400mm f/4.5 S is. It's a pixel peeper's wet dream (click on the image to see for yourself). Maybe it's ...

Yes, the lens would have been fine without the filter as well and you would have saved yourself the cost of the filter. You would also have avoided the risk of filter glass fragments actually ...

I still have thousands of images to cull, but here are my favorites so far.

Finally got my 2x TC in today, combined with the 400mm f/4.5 I ended up at 800mm f/9. Focus seems to slow down somewhat, but I did manage to squeeze a couple of images out this afternoon. I am ...

I think you forgot to mention the 400mm f/4.5, which as far as I'm concerned, the best thing since sliced bread, especially with the teleconverters. It's light (lighter than the 70-200mm), sharp, ...

For me it was the Z9. I felt it was finally better than any DSLR I have ever used, and I was right. Then I bought a single Z lens, liked it very much (24-70mm f/2.8) and now I am all in with only ...

As of tomorrow there's a 10% discount on lots of Nikon lenses in Europe. You can get the S 70-200mm f/2.8 for under €2500 here in Germany.

I had the 70-200mm f/2.8S with the TC1.4x, so I skipped the 100-400mm. I didn't want to buy the 500mm PF because it's an expensive F lens, and I already own the 200-500mm f/5.6. When the 400mm ...

@nilsjohan, yes I own that lens and many others, and no they aren't slow. Stop watching Sony Northrup. They're feeding you BS. It isn't true.
-
@nilsjohan, no Nikon lenses don't have mediocre AF speed. It's a little bit slower in the specific test that DPR does compared to Sony, but the test does not really translate to real world usage...
