I like and use my GX800 and still keep GF7. I would love to get an update with newer sensor.

My guess is that LR crops the image to correct for distortions, while C1 probably allows for the uncorrected image, which can be wider than specified.
-
That's because it has a disproportionally huge lens mount, which is probably sufficient for a digital medium format.

Rent a Pana 9 mm or 8-18/8-25 mm from Lensrentals. You can send them there to some reasonably sized town and send them back when done before the end of your trip. I believe the wides are more ...

Way too much pretty empty space over the heads: suggest some cropping—otherwise, very lovely group portraits.

Is a transcript of what was said in the video available?

- with kids or without them - my 8-18 lens or I would probably buy a 9mm 1.7 lens. And I would take either 12-40 or 12-45. I often take my tiny 35-100 and a small prime, but they mostly remain ...

I thought nobody would make it. I wish the option of different aspect ratios existed for "normal" MFT cameras. I would get one - for a change.

I can't get how these can be compared as walkabout lenses—absolutely different walking styles.

I wonder if adding a mic input jack to a camera like Panasonic GX9 or reasonably good video specs/codecs beyond 4K/24p in anything like Olympus EM5III/OM5 is too much? Is it too much to ask 20MP...

I assume your body is GM1. If I were as minimalist as you, I would take 12-32 - for travel. On the other hand, ages ago my favorite lens was 35mm in FF terms.

@D135ima, many lenses even do not cover the whole sensor area, especially in 1", but in FF, too (especially, superzooms). When I complained and called it cheating, I did not find much...

You have to and must take your best gear to Costa Rica. Otherwise, it is nonsense or an unforgivable sin. Been there in 2012, 2013, and 2017. But your best bet is to be ready for ...

My style is single-portaging (we do not go back and forth) with three people in a two-seater like SR Quetico 17' with minimum gear for multiple portages. While it was not the aim, once we had ...

Wow, I have made many, many miles and portages in BWCA and elsewhere but never so late. I dreamed about Quetico but gave up a few years ago - if I happen to be in Canada - I will go to Woodland ...

@weisman, still, there is a proper place between 1.7 and 2.8/28-4. 1.7 zoom is too stellar, big, heavy, and expensive for my taste.

GX85 is better in the video than EM5 III. But not in audio. So, no luck for us users.
-
mighty 12-40, of course! I mean after the GX85 got broken. I never feel any "unbalance". And I encountered really outstanding service in Chicago, which fixed my GX85, and it works perfectly. The ...

I once dropped my photo bag with my GX85 inside from about 0.6 meter in an airport and got an uncurable error message from the camera. My GX800 saved the day and my international trip.
