I would say I probably know/ understand about 80% of my R5. I actually purchased Michael Andrew’s crash course on the R5. Most of my knowledge deficit is on the video side of things. I feel like ...

Make sure you have the focus / control switch set to "focus"....then, you must make sure that the focus is set to AF. With this lens, that is set in the camel's menu system. This video shows how ...

Thanks for the link. Very interesting comparisons.

Thanks for the firsthand feedback. The version with the leveling base is one I’m really looking at. I do a lot of night sky including panoramas sometimes in very rugged uneven locations, so that ...

Thanks for your feedback. As for the aluminum leg locks, I’m sure it’s just a personal preference thing, but I actually prefer bare aluminum. I have a Sirui with rubber over metal leg locks and ...

Yes, I’ve looked at all of those. I’m specifically looking at the PMG, thanks.

I am considering a much beefier tripod for night landscape photography with my R5. Does any here have the 34 series tripod (either 3 or 4 sections)? If so, how do you like it? Pros / Cons?

A slightly less drastic thing you can do is paint the little mark on the cap white. It still only mounts one way, but at least it's easier to see where to orient your cap with the lens.

Thankfully no wind at all and very clear night.

I had never tried one of those "big moon" pictures before, but with the recent Blue Moon/ Super Moon, I decided to give it a try. With the help of PhotoPills, I was able to determine a good ...

It is very noisy, isn't it! When I first got my EF 300 f/4 (used) I thought there was something wrong with it. I keep it off most of the time also since I usually am shooting in decent light and ...

I just realized that on my last reply I posted some pictures that were taken with the 300mm f/4 but they were not taken with the R5. My apologies. These all should be the R5 with the EF 300 f/4

No, never have used a non-IS version.

I am using the 300 f/4 with my R5 and find it is quite good. It may not be as snappy to focus as a modern RF lens, but it isn't bad either. The IS is not going to give you the kind of ...

It's not blistering fast with its STM motor but, as long as I use the limiter when shooting with my R5, it's plenty fast for most things. Probably would struggle with fast moving subjects, but ...

I have been longing for an X100V for quite a while. Unfortunately all the usual online stores are out of stock or back ordered. I hope that B&H or Adorama etc will get these in again, or has ...

I really need to get out and play with that 120fps mode!
-
Excellent capture! Were you using 4k 120fps?
-
I understand what it is, but confess I haven’t tried it yet on my R5. Guess I need to learn the details for use and give it a try.
