Jhaakas: Camera on its own is amazing, packed with features...
However, looks like Pentax lost its way in terms of assessing what market has to offer,
2K is FF territory.
In that price point, the Z5 /RP/a7c or S5 will beat the specs, AF perf and they all have movable screens, are lighter in weight.. and more importantly FF..
Sorry, I would have still hesitated the K3iii at half the price....

I dont have to buy and try the camera to know that it does not have a swivel screen (which K70 has), no flash, not significant size or weight reduction....
Perhaps when K1-iii comes out, we will l suddenly discover the benefits of FF

eliz82: I wish this camera had a Canon EF mount. But it seems Canon totally abandoned high-end APS-C users. It's 7 years since Canon 7D mark II has been released.

That would be a degrade from Pentax lenses

Jhaakas: Well good.. but price point is not exactly entry level!

F 2.8, f2.4.. how exactly are these high end lenses.

Good lens and very nice photos, great IQ.
I do wonder though that is the dof too thin?
And, perhaps a f2.0 or f2.4 might also do a good job ..when combined with computational bokeh

TRIODEROB: I would have bought it if it had a 50 mm lens

Extremes on any side are not good.. and this is one on the higher end.
Apart from a handful people getting shocked to see u have a 15K camera.. 99% + will not even notice that .. BOTH the camera and the photos are any different than the mainstream good ones!

Jhaakas: What is it that this camera can do in BW that other comparable Color camera cannot do in BW mode.
On the other hand, this camera obviously cant do color photos.

The color is just a s/w representation on the display.. The sensor does not interpret color, it just converts light to data.

Honestly, I didnt see anything significantly different in the images
Some of them were almost black.. when I expected to see some details (DR??)

M Lammerse: Does it also include a B&W version of Lightroom build in the camera? ;-)

It does include BW glasses

Wondering...
What would be the advantage of having a monochrome camera?
Is there more DR? or better low ISO
Does it mean 0-255 is graded solely from while to black, but the will our eyes be able to distinguish in monochrome?

Everything looks nice and impressive.. However, should one pay more for a small sensor, reduced Mpix , low DR etc..
Maybe less is more nowadays...

MohsinWadee: Everybody and their dog here is complaining about the price. Well Fujifilm also sell APS-C cameras for at least the price of entry-level FF cameras. XT-4 for example. And you bet your phones that a new H model will be pricier still.

So stop complaining and get over it. FF and mirrorless isn't the be all and end-all of cameras yet.

Yes, and this camera can also make phone calls that have 200 times better sound quality than smartphones.. so truly worth every $

Nice move from Canon into this segment.
This looks like a nice companion to the cell phone that hopefully can fit in a pocket or can be hung like a binocular. It probably is a different shaped PS camera.. Anyway if it gets the technology found in cell phones, it will be an amazing product

paulsch: I am mildly annoyed by the “52 mm focal length” paired with “f/2.0 aperture” marketing nonsense. In their presentation Apple even left out the word “equivalent” which makes their statements outright falsehoods.

But apart from that the new iPhones look very interesting and I am eager to see the results of their revamped computational photography.

Yes @dala .. it is amazing what cel phone manufacturers have achieved with s/w.. It really questions why arent mainstream camera manufacturers following this route!
They should be able to make a camera with FF sensor tiny enough like a matchbox to hold a F sensor and all the zoom, bokeh etc should be computational

Smartphones also pack a lot of this stuff in pretty tiny package

If the final print is an "equivalent" of what you would get from a 52mm.. should be ok. FF equivalent is a good way to compare

Photoman: Overpriced and the camera specs are always behind Samsung. It is like they are not even trying anymore. We need a Steve Jobs Mark II to run the show.

Sure..then why arent apple users throwing their iphones for the notes
