I can’t wait for flying cars. They promised we’d have them by the end of past century, and all we got was 100MP phones.

That's such a fun place, I imagine kids would like it too.

I agree with almost everything. Initially, I thought Ken Rockwell’s take on sharpness more as minimalism or nostalgia. After I got sharper and sharper lenses and higher resolution cameras and more ...

I'll reserch the bellows again. I only found the Contax with some tilt and had not detected the PB4 or the Mamiya (for 645?). The Nikon seems great if heavy, reasonable price! Thanks for the ...

@RamD, I can't forget hypocritically self-righteous persons that easily, but I agree it was an odd winner. I stated it was my least fav of all, although I also enjoyed every picture a lot. I also...

Usually, the way to do it is know where the contrast is lacking. is it veiling or is it lower contrast as you start to zoom in? You can't recover detail that isn't there.

Contrast by level of detail is as good as it gets in terms of being intuitive. The fact contrast can be described at any scale, and added at any scale independently, is contrary to the way we ...

@Jason, I am with you with regards to not screwing the environment, but this is a pool and 5 globes. I think you pick the wrong example, and it fits nicely with the “art” variation. It was my least...

I didn’t like learning the mother always self-sacrifices :-(… I found the markings on the eggs to be so hilarious. I wasn’t sure if those were real or 3D printed stuff.

The balloons “plastic” is less than any a candy bag would have, and it was a pool and this will not end up in the ocean. You are confusing your feelings here. And in this case, the ballon needs no...

Great photos, I love this series and the backstories. I note these people love photos a lot more than the gear itself, many use older cameras.

It is one reason I dislike EyeAF…people have two eyes! I agree one needs to think what DOF will be best, but one still needs to position that DOF precisely. It’s often very evident when the wrong ...

Totally! Agreed Yes, but when subject is more far away, it becomes harder to tell. Totally. One can see in amazing detail near the plane of focus. One of the biggest realizations of manual focusing ...

(1) How difficult would it be to take a portrait where the subject isn't completely 100% still? Very ...

I like my Summicron v1. V2 is even better I assume. I have over 60 lenses in the normal range to compare. The Elmar 50/3.5 is probably my favorite. I don’t care which came is behind some long as ...

Renting? Other than that, the only true solution is to have lots of money and to also have lots of free time. Basically, either winning the lottery or inheriting. If you are asking this question, ...

Wish I could find a castball used with some defect at a lower price. The setup is so nice.

I crop shots with my Elmar 3.5 from eons ago and the look really nice. The crop factor is tricky with some older Leica lenses as they may have been tuned to have great corners and centers ...

My 105 Sonnar seems to have been used with care but has the wear of having seen a lot of scenes, including to the helicoids. And it’s a great lens.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
