kcdogger: If Sony had been HONEST, they would have announced the death of A mount years ago when it was obvious to everyone that they were going to ignore it and let it die on the vine - stringing along A mount users to keep them using and buying. Very dishonest in the name of profits and expediency.

Sony made zero money off of old Minolta lens. they needed to kill A mount so you would have to buy outrageous priced Sony lenses. The compatibility adapters from Sony were grossly huge and all left out something you had been accustomed to using. The last one, of course, only works on two very expensive Sony cameras. But, Hey! They provided a path.... if you have the big bucks and are willing to spend them. Sony just wants the money and couldn't care less about their customers/photographers. Of course you need to make a reasonable profit, but an outrageous one - no!

Result: I now buy nothing with the Sony name on it. Why reward dishonesty?

Forget Leica - all of them. Save your money. The difference is negligible. Of course we stupid people always think the most expensive is "the Best." Need more comparisons like this - but maybe then we wouldn't have anything to argue about.

Since when did Sony ever care about keeping prices DOWN?

I don't care one way or the other about the background color, BUT if you continue with the pop up ads almost every time I press a button I will leave you forever - and that's sad - but easily preventable..

Well, I did use PS because I like pretty pictures, but in all honesty, I don't use all the functions anyway. Since Winston and Adobe don't seem to want us amatuers around, and have said so with this resounding the slap in the face, I think I'll shop around for other (non-Adobe) programs, and start using them NOW as a matter of principle. Make no mistake, I am completely on the side of the professional photogs, and wish them only the best in finding non-Adobe solutions as well. The arrogance of Winston in his response is amazing, and imho should be reason enough for leaving Adobe.

As an amatuer photog I find i don't use all of PS anyway. Will keep what I have until it wears out and then get something else. I'm done with Adobe. My opinion - This new marketing strategy is dumb, and will eventually cost Adobe its leadership position. Their reputation just took possibly a fatal nosedive. Who IS this Filipowitz character anyway? He's GOTTA be on the Adobe payroll.
