  • After posting earlier today I tried using a little more force and was able to hear the click when it was quiet in the room. So, I twisted each of the lenses on and off a few times and found it to ...
  • Created discussion thread M10 difficulty attaching lenses
I have three lenses for my new M10. Leica 90mm Macro Elmar, Voightlander 50mm f/1.5, Voightlander 15mm, f/4. All of them go on and work very well, but they all require quite a bit more force to ...
  • Thanks. I'm looking forward to the arrival of an M10 and a Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 on Tuesday. I recently bought a Q, my first Leica, and quickly "got it". As a poster in another thread put ...
  • Thanks for all the helpful feedback. I'll be buying the iii in the near future.
  • Created question thread Which Voigtlander 15mm?
I'm considering buying a Voigtlander Super Wide-Heliar 15mm f/4.5 Aspherical II (or III) lens for my m. It appears that the III is the current model because the II isn't shown on their website. ...
  • Thanks for all the feedback. It looks like there's a Visoflex in my M10's future.
  • Good info. Thanks, JD.
  • I checked the Leica site for EVFs. There are two, EVF and EVF2. The EVF2 has a resolution of 1.4mp and the EVF listing doesn't specify. Would you happen to know why you would choose one or the other?
  • Will using LV work well enough for wider lenses?
  • I'm new to the M (M10 about to arrive) and plan to buy a WA, 18 or 21mm, but I'm hoping not to have to add and external viewfinder. More bulk, more kit to carry, more fiddling, more money. So, I'd ...
  • Replied in congrats!
Thanks, Tom. The closest Leica store to me (I live in western NC.) is in D.C., an eight hour drive. That's where I bought the M10 by phone. Luckily, though, I'm going to be in D.C. as a stopover ...
  • Created discussion thread M10 coming tomorrow. Diopters?
I ordered an M10 yesterday. It will arrive tomorrow. Since ordering I saw a reference to diopters for the RF. Is this something I should have addressed while ordering? How will I know if I need ...
  • Since owning my first digital camera (circa 2002) I've almost exclusively shot jpeg and been able to get satisfactory results editing in Apple's iPhotos/Photos. I probably could have done better ...
  • Thanks for that explanation, Jared. It helps. So, it also begs the question of the best WB setting when shooting DNG+JPEG. Any thoughts there?
  • OK, it's time to fall on my sword. With all the feedback I've gotten I was compelled to go back and look at the photos again. Here's what I found: 1) After taking and comparing the original round ...
  • Thanks for the analysis, though there are a few things that don't quite match the EXIF data you show. Both cameras were set to auto WB, the photos I posted were the DNG RAW files and all the shots ...
  • Good point. I'll have to try it again and pay better attention to the "actual" colors.
  • I totally agree! I haven't used the Sony for anything but this comparison since I got the Q. In fact, I'm on the waiting list with the "big store" in NY for an M10. The shooting experience is so ...
  • OK, I understand about RAW and WB now. Since I rarely use WB settings other than Auto and almost always shoot in JPEG, I was under the impression that WB was part of the JPEG algorithm. Thanks for ...
  • Created discussion thread Q color mystery
Yesterday I wanted to compare photos from my Q and Sony a7r2, so I put a Canon 50mm 1.8 with Sigma adapter (originally bought to be able to use Sigma's 150-600 on the Sony) on the Sony and took ...
