Dutch Newchurch: It’s good to see an image that shows animal power but not horse power. I like the contemporary nature of this shot. It shows how important animal power continues to be, for many people. If I had to nit-pick, I think I might have liked a wider angle of view, to show more of the context to the image. Commended by the host, with full bragging rights.
Congratulations too, on a top placed image.

Thanks for your encouragement.
I focused on the animal and his carriage because it's in a middle of the road, there is nothing and nobody interesting around it ....

Agree, but I can't move inside the shinto temple....

Dutch Newchurch: The challenge host cannot vote, but you have earned a ‘Commended by the Host’ - with full bragging rights - for this striking image. I really enjoy the colours in it. I wonder if it might be even stronger if you cropped out the land and the sky?

Thanks for your encouragement !

I effectively tried to crop the sky , but this gives the impression of a monotonous pink color. So I tried to give a "sense of horizontality zenness".
I discover recently after entering the challenge that such a picture was sold in 2011 auction at Christie as the most expansive photo at $4,338,500 !!!!

bombelpl: I never vote in competitions in which I participate - but if I voted, then this photo would be my absolute number one. My congratulations!

If you voted, may be I can be at first place ?....
Anyway, thanks for your encouragement.

In reply to:

thejohnnerparty: Why is it secret?

Hi, the alley is not straight, so when you enter it, you don't know where it will end, especially for a tourist,

Hi, thanks for the encouragement.
It is the old machinery for the cable car that goes up to the rock hills at Rio di Janeiro
