dopravopat's current gear
Had it converted to IR in 2014, using is more since then.
|
Seems to have one dead pixel on sensor, but ACR handles it without problems.
|
Use it only for IR as it has no "hot-spot" issue or it is barely visible. Got it with another EOS 60D that my father now has. AF is slow and inaccurate, overall wobbly construction compared to my high-end Sigma lenses. Only the old first generation Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC is equally bad in AF and mechanical construction.
|
Optically excellent. AF inconsistent and even with the USB Dock impossible to calibrate, this costs one star in the rating. I would need way more calibration points than the 16 provided by Sigma, 55 would be a good starting point. Once calibrated, the lens focuses consistently - but only on the calibrated spots.

Tripod collar cannot be removed and gets it the way when rotating the zoom ring.

Other gear:
- Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC The old, non macro version, 67 mm filter thread, keep it as a backup
- Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 EX DC HSM The old Mk I version with front focusing issue at 150 mm
- Sigma EF-530 DG Super Flash
- Sigma EF-610 DG Super Flash
