I don't get why there are people who complain about the price. I am not Canon marketing target that for sure but after couple years this lens is bound to go down in price to the acceptable price range certainly.

justmeMN: Does Sony have to pay Canon a royalty for making white lenses?

(just kidding)

Bernardlang i doubt anybody have to pay Nikon for that apart from Sigma in 2015?

kurtjofsen: Surprised that the new Nikon and Canon lenses are slower to focus than the much older Sony 70-200. How will they keep up with high fps sports systems onwards if their brand new sports lenses are slower to AF?

Kurtofsen how much faster u want? Like 0.000025 faster well i cannot make different between that timing lolOlol

First thing i did when i saw this was scrolling down to the comment section. The fight between Playstation and Pixma Fan boy is so good to read.
I feel that some of the comment must be sony or canon board of director lol. Keep it up fan boy.

Thecylon: As a Sony user, the much better ibis and the cfexpress card are the big two changers. I will never use video. Hope this kicks Sony in the ass so they will catch up in those regards.

Nicoppc Are you really using Fuji?? For me fuji af is neither slow or fast and not as accurate as i expected, I would say fuji xt-4 is at 5d mk ii level for speed and accuracy at best.

MikeRan: This is appearing to be a VERY small percentage problem. Why Tamron doesn’t come out and say less than 1% are affected who knows but that’s how it seems. Perhaps DPR can reach out to Tamron and ask them for a quantification of what percentage are affected.

Agree with MikeRan,

I thought Pentax would be out first.

1% for Tamron but 100% for the owner.

memee_meen: I dont quite trust Sony. In my opinion Sony has always been the brand that make stuffs and sell only. No service.
If something broke and need repair it will cost the same as new one.

I used to own quite a few Sony Body myself 1X A900 and 1X A850 and few Zeiss and G lenses.
I had an issue with Sony 70-200 2.8G in particular, A/f was not working after 2 years of lightly use, The cost of replacement of AF module was 1/3 of new lens not include labor and 2 and half months waiting time.....I understood that was over 10 years ago but it is still scaring me to have another Sony.
After switched to Canon my 16-35 L II had an erratic Af issue after 3 years of use. The AF unit was replaced in 5 days and returned back to me after 7 days the cost of it was like 250 usd with lens fully clean all dust inside removed, Also they replace rubber ring for me. This lens is still with me until today.
