With the $199 50/1.8, Canon definetly left some nice space for a RF 50/1.4 IS. Question is if it will be an L-version (>$1000) or non L-version (<$800)? I am a big fan of 50mm lenses, so go Canon!

I wonder how far you can go with a monopod! And sorry, I thought the subject of this thread was the stabilization potential of IBIS and IS combined, but I missed the fact that the OP has an EOS RP.

I took this photo with a R6 and the 24-105/7.1 kit lens at 28mm/F22 with 1 sec exposure to get some blur on the waterfall under the pillars. Handheld, standing. It took me 2-3 shots to get it ...

The video editing workflow was actually better than expected. Transcoding of 10 bit files is necessary but no hassle at all. Either using Adobe Media Encoder or ffmpeg for those without an Adobe ...

Sounds like a firmware bug to me.

(..) I returned it, because it did not do for me what I expected it to do. Especially for that hefty price tag.

Yep. Used price dropped significantly lately. And it's still one of the very best lenses known to mankind.

I just recorded a few clips in 4K and HD using CLog and non-CLog to test this out. The computer I tested this is on a 2015 MacBook Pro, 15" 4-physical-core i7 @ 2.5 GHz, 1 TB SSD, 16 GB RAM, no ...

After transcoding a 4K/25/Canon Log MP4 from the EOS R6 to Apple ProRes 422 LT (quicktime) using Adobe Media Encoder, I could open, edit and play the file in a 4K timeline in Resolve Free ...

Dammit, that's what I feared. I have been right on the fence to Resolve from PPro. Until now...

Tell that to Apple... I hate drives dangling off of the sides of my Macbook

My R6 arrives tomorrow and I am having the same question. Will try out in the next days and report back here how it worked to be able to open and edit those 10 bit CLOG files in PPro and Resolve ...

It's not the shutter count that drains the battery, it's the time the EVF or back screen is on. Many shots in a short time: no prob. Occasional shots over the day: bring extra battery/ies. No ...

Even if the subject moves? Let's day your doggy runs (at a medium pace) towards you, will the AF catch up with the movement? I really want this lens but the AF still makes me a bit undecided.

Very nice looking photos! Great colors, contrast and very pleasing bokeh. How slow and how loud is this lens focussing? What I saw on YT looked like it's ultra slow (like 1 second from close to ...

First answer: Yes, EF-lenses work great and without any issues, hickups or whatever on the RP. They just work as expected with the adapter that came with my RP. The RP is very small (which is ...

Yep, these were my thoughts as well. If the 1DxIII cannot do it, the R5 most likely will not either.
-
What do you predict based on the available tech specs of the R5? Will the R5 have a silent (electronic) shutter with a high enough sensor-readout-speed to eleminate or highly reduce banding effects ...

The announcement of the g9x III has been rumored today as „coming soon“.

I am very happy that Canon DOES NOT call it their "flagship" camera. Because if they did, it will cost $6000+. Actually they call the EOS-1D X Mark III their flagship camera. Pheeww... Scroll down ...
