About me:

More or less an "amateur hobbyist" when it comes to photography, but I am learning more and more each time I pick up my camera. Primarily a macro shooter, but occasionally dabble in wide-angle shooting (i.e. landscapes).

RuthC: In many parts of the world, 'daddy long legs' refers to Pholcus phalangioides, or cellar spiders, and are true spiders, which build webs etc, (often in my house.) They are NOT venomous.

Indeed. From a definition standpoint, I believe it is because they lack the second body section. I'm sure there are a few other characteristics that disqualify them from being a true spider. I figured it would be a good idea to include them simply because they are so common, regardless of semantics.

I wonder where the rumor began that said DLL's were "super venomous", but don't have long enough fangs to pierce human skin? Of course, reality is much different.

Great shot. I can never seem to get one head on in order to really show the eyes.

Focal length 28.7mm. There is no way I'm getting that close to a bat EVER. Brave shot.
