Spastic indeed. Maybe his talent is more in not crashing than in making nice footage.

Biological_Viewfinder: I hate all of these except that very last one which looks more natural like it could have been taken from a higher hill.

The rest seem like weird abstracts; bad photographs showing a rare view because we do not fly does not make them good photographs. They're just angles we normally do not see, but they're still bad pictures.

The problem is, no one can make any $$$ with silence.
I remember the morning I woke up to the sound - and then smell - of our neighbour trying out his "leaf blower". Ever since, all the other neighbours got one too, ditching their good, old, healthy, nearly silent, emission-free rakes.
And now when they're done blowing leaves they just may play with their drones a bit.
Just for fun.
We used to live in a quiet lane with fresh air.

That's like saying "when it comes time we'll all march, mindless, like Nazi's" - I used to have a different view of Americans but yes, that was before last november.

spontaneousservices: "The K-70 is a very compelling option, especially for cash-strapped enthusiasts that are looking for a camera that they want to take complete control of and customize to their personal taste. For them, the Pentax is the obvious choice, as there's no penalty for buying a body on a budget in terms of features and controls, which isn't the case with other manufacturers."

- aren't you forgetting the point about buying into one brand's lens line-up? Possibly that IS quite some penalty!

Some of the above could be mentioned in the review, then.

No, all I'm saying is, a series of short term profits is not the same as long term profit. They may amount to the same but come about in a different way. If they didn't, why would you use different words?

"Long term profits are a series of short term profits." - sounds nice but it is utter nonsense!

On article Elevating X-Trans? Fujifilm X-T2 Review (2195 comments in total)

Must say these new Fuji's do start to look very convincing, as does their lens line-up...
I went the Sony APS-C mirrorless route a few years back, a decision just based on camera specs, but I always was jealous of the Fuji's handling. Maybe now it's time to switch?

Watched his slide show on the NYT site every week. All good things come to an end, sooner or later.

All of that may be true, all I'm saying is: the picture that started this whole discussion is _not_in_any_way_ meant as artistic.

Once you start to confuse genres, you'll be forever reading things into pictures that weren't supposed to be read - and are therefore nonsensical.

On further consideration, the question is what kind of picture this is. If it was a product shot you'd be totally right - nothing should distract from the product, you'd need bland hands, without any peculiarities.

But a hands-on report from a trade fair is something different than a product shot.

@smiler - the best I can make of your reply is, apparently the perception of - or even focus on - poorly trimmed nails differs from one culture to the other. I've read that gangsters in macho Colombia spend hours every week in nail studios. In Holland however, no self-respecting tough guy could do that without risking being called a wimp.

But then again, too much cultural relativism kills any interesting statement.

guyfawkes: Can't see on the Hasselblad site any reference to IS, in-body or lens, nor in-built sensor cleaning. Or does the physical size of the senor preclude such niceties?

A good IBIS-sytem would be a quantum-leap for usability of MF camera's! Dreaming of such a camera with fixed 'normal' prime (fixed to keep its size small and dust out)

Something for you to consider, generally: unlike the world you appear to live in, out there in the real world are REAL people, not Walt Disney-like photoshopped silicon fakes. So yes they look real, too. Frightening huh?

Yes bit of a bummer - not that I'm scheduled to win the lottery anytime soon, but if I WAS, yes I'd prefer manual aperture ring, and shutter and iso dial to go with it. And IBIS, as mentioned above - if there's any camera where you'd want that, it's in MF!
