Thus leading to less usable stops because of the ''missing'' data.. In reality when you try to record 14 stops of dynamic range in a 12 bit format you will more quickly get banding and a noisier...

Increase in pixels doesn’t necessarily lead to an increase in quality.

I was thinking exactly the same. Never have I ever experience any performance issue with EF adapted to RF with official adapter.

I'm not a native English speaker so I had to google translate 'exemplary'. Meaning: 'serving as a desirable model; very good.' Thanks!!

I'm not claiming that increasing bit depth will increase DR? I am claiming that decreasing bit depth will decrease DR. So if your sensor is capable of outputting more DR than 12 stops you will...

@beatboxa I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.. I was not disagreeing with anything you said... You are right, when the on-sensor A/D converters are 12 bit then there is nothing to gain if you...

Unfortunatly you are not getting the full DR from this sensor because in video mode the bitdepth coming from the sensors A/D converters is 12 bit. That is why you will still see a DR difference...

It’s kind of a scary idea that the same could be happening to our sun and planets.

Let’s just wait until we see the images from the camera. Spec sheets can be very misleading.

Yes for this camera it seems they designed/made the sensor, every other BM camera uses a third party sensor.

Is CR2 even possible with this camera?

A really good OLPF that is specifically made for this sensor. But that would probably impact the amount of detail it can capture.

Guys, remember that not every update can be done by the end user. The update might affect a part of the OS that is normally not accessible via the SD card reader. Or the chance of bricking is...

Why would you want android on your camera?

I've been following them for some years and their product line just keeps on getting better. I think price/quality wise they are equal to/or surpassing RED. I mean RED still makes camera's that are...

It could be this one: Sony IMX455AQK-K With some tweaks to get it in to cinema camera territory.

Wow, that is one smooth looking blur. It is almost CGI like in it's consistency. Very nice though. @Richard, maybe a bit off topic but I see you converted these in ACR. Which profile are you using...

@lawny13 Ah very interesting. Maybe they had a look at the number of sensors Sony is selling and are trying to get a piece of the pie.
