On article Samsung patent shows dual-camera tracking feature (27 comments in total)
In reply to:

stevo23: Since Samsung have lately become the market leader in the PED (personal explosive device) market, is this really the right step for them to take? What are they going to do to make sure these cameras don't explode until you want them to? I think this is foremost on everyone's mind.

You score a zero on the attempt to be funny scale.

Usernamefail: I'm still using the G3 and still loving it! I looked at 'upgrading' when both the G4 and 5 came out... but neither of those did anything much better IMO.

They are faster. The G5 is a lot faster than the G3.

mickeybphoto: An introductory photography class. Learn the basics aperture and shutter speeds, ISO, white balance and so on. Learn the full potential of your new device.

No need for lessons when you have DP Review.

Probably will still be 1334 x 750 resolution.

DPR, why drag your site down by propogating iPhone rumours?

I'd pick clear or UV filter first. Maybe even a screen protector

External flash should be in there.

Sergey Borachev: It's unbelievable that the lack of memory expansion is not listed as a Con!

The phone is a PDA, PERSONAL Digital Assistant. It's like a handheld computer. So instant access to mountable storage is very important to countless people for easy backup, private sharing, transfers between devices. The Cloud is a poor alternative.

835 is fast. Hopefully there will be more apps besides games that take advantage of the speed.

Sir Corey of Deane: With the ease of photo fakery, EVERY image on the Web can be questioned and thus the value of these blah blah blah awards, competitions etc.

I've seen what I consider better pics posted by 'ordinary' DPReview members.

There and they're.

In reply to:

RadGuy: why not just use a 256GB Thumb drive with a USB 3.0 connection? Plug it into your laptop and transfer the data. Much smaller and much cheaper. No cables necessary. I saw a Lexar 256GB thumbdrive on Amazon for under $50. Need more than 256GB? Just use multiple Thumb drives. If one fails, you don't lose everything.

Writing to an SSD drive on a USB 3 connection will be much, much faster than writing to a thumb drive.

Large, inexpensive thumb drives have much slower write speeds. Much slower.

Video looks good, even in low light.

Photos in low light are lacking.

Weak excuse.

But then again he's not twisting my arm to buy the new laptop. There are a lot of other great options available.
