Thanks for the informative examples. That is very helpful. Here are some examples from the setup I was referring to. For reference, the focal length of the camera lens (Panasonic FZ200) varies from ...

In the setup I described I certainly got severe ("looking through a porthole") vignetting at the widest angles (lowest magnification), but having got past that I didn't notice any issues. (This ...

My understanding is that a lens that is reversed on to a normally mounted camera lens acts as a close-up lens. And as far as the distance between a close-up lens and the camera lens goes I have ...

Yes they can. When I first make a new diffuser setup I calibrate it for colour. Shooting raw, I capture an image of a neutral grey card. I then pick up the white balance (Temp and Tint values) ...

Might it be a Bush Cricket nymph, possibly a Speckled Bush Cricket? For example see the image on the left in the Description section of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speckled_bush-cricket or the ...

Nice, especially to my eye the second, fourth and fifth, with the second particularly striking.

Nice set. I particularly like the first, last and last but one. As to spots, they do of course show up more with the smaller apertures we often use for macro. Have you tried a wet clean?

Super set. Lovely colours and clarity and focus plane placement. Nice backgrounds too. Very pleasing to view.

That's very kind of you Phil, thank you. I've not been posting much recently and what I have posted has mainly not been of smaller subjects like in your linked posts, so for the OP here is a link ...
