Yes, the feed blacks out during long exposures like pretty much all cameras. It's only in SH2 mode that you get blackout free shooting in a burst, but at a minimum of 25 fps.
-
The lack of C-AF in high speed video shooting is pretty much the only thing missing from the camera for me. I seriously doubt they will add it but that would be my hope.

"Even better than RGB values would be RGBA. So you could choose how transparent it should be." That's exactly how the Olympus/OM bodies are setup. You can control the color of the AF boxes as well...

Yeah, with wider lenses once you get the hang of the handheld assist feature it feels like you can do arbitrarily long exposures.
-
30s with a 17 PRO. Exposure is long enough that the apparent movement of the stars in the sky becomes an issue towards the edge of the frame. It's really the handheld assist feature that makes ...

You're correct, with digital stabilization enabled there is a slight crop. With only mechanical stabilization there is no crop.
-
FWIW, unless you're doing something like astrophotography, or 4K60P video for long periods of time, heat buildup doesn't really matter for stills. Heat will add dark current noise, but that's only ...
-
I definitely would not suggest using LENR for short exposures. You'll actually be adding additional noise to the image with no real upside.
-
That's long exposure noise reduction and that is indeed applied to RAW data; not a new feature though as pretty much every camera at least since the mid-2000s has had this feature. There is actual ...

He's literally using someone else's charts as the basis of his information except he doesn't understand what the charts are saying. That's absolutely insane you would think that makes him more ...

Do you mean the example with the 4 stop push of the ISO 800 image vs the ISO 12,800 image? That's certainly demonstrating the dual gain architecture but does nothing to show a three stage ADC. The ...

It's based on a misunderstanding of Bill Claff's plots. Not worth watching.

This was fixed months ago in FW1.1, no reason to be concerned.

Yes, it's not very loud and fairly damped but there is a rattle.

Atmospheric turbulence is enough to make it fail, you have to get somewhat lucky for it to work and then even luckier for the seeing to work out just right such that it would actually be ...
-
Yes, seems to be working fine now.

If it's quad bayer the A1 PDAF should be sensitive to horizontal contrast.
-
Those numbers are indeed true if you include compact cameras, which are all but extinct now, but ignore cell phones, security cameras, automotive cameras, etc. ILC cameras however have not seen ...

@DavitorR5 There's this weird idea that's been floating around on here for a while now that weather sealing and heat dissipation are somehow mutually exclusive. Do people think that cameras are...

Works extremely well, no C-AF issues that I've encountered yet. The only issue I've found is that Starry Sky AF doesn't work correctly with the 1.4x TC attached.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
