Agreed. If there's a split, I'm out. Life too short for extra forum switching when we are talking about the same system.

An interesting thread which suggests to me that the EF 1.8 is better for action, and also for portraits (as blurred edges may help portraits). That's most of the uses of such a lens. For edge to ...

I would do that. Also you could think of the adapter as a longer-term friend, allowing you to pick up all kinds of used EF lenses when the mood takes you.
-
I would guess same as R6 ($2500), giving people a choice of sensor size (R6) or action/'reach' (R7). But it wouldn't surprise me if $3000, if they put a lot into it.
-
Picture style. But I don't change that often. I may consider some of the ideas in this thread, ISO and focus area, for example.
-
Well, at Park in UK Option A (RP with zoom) would cost you £3409, and Option B (R6 with 50 F1.8) would cost you £2609. Advantage B. And if it were me, which it obviously isn't, I would go for B ...

I shot a lot in Botswana back in film days before I had L lenses and never had a problem. In most places that you will go - like Chobe or Okavango - there is no issue. If you get into the Kalahari ...

Does resolution = megapixels, or is there more to it than that?

And my mileage does vary.. I think the old idea that photography is all about glass and not about focus speed, accuracy, versatility, and the joy of capturing the moment, should have died with ...

I gather from your earlier thread that you'll have about £1800 available after getting your R3. It it were me, I would consider: RF 100-400, about £700 RF 1.4 extender, about £560. You may not need ...

Congratulations, and I know that you will enjoy that camera.
-
I am sure yes From what you say, I think yes! Then save up for better lenses if you really need them. (I am guessing the R3 will improve focus speeds and accuracy with all lenses.) I cannot ...
-
To me, if you have a good-enough lens and have a camera that can capture pictures that others can't, you have a perfectly justifiable strategy.
-
Not necessarily. Buying the latest camera, with professional build, unrivalled speed, longer battery life, best ISO performance and great autofocus, can make sense as a strategy. It can be good ...
-
And you could add a used EF 50 mm F1.8, and maybe find a cheap used EF wide angle, and you'd have a pretty good kit. The R3 is a killer and the idea to build around it seems a good one to me.

The dollar has depreciated about 5% against the yen in the last six months. So on a $2,000 lens, Canon actually gets about $100 less than before. From their point of view, they have just reset ...

Well done, now I have learned something too.

It's Image Review, Viewfinder display, red menu number 8 in the R3. It lets you see the last pic in the viewfinder, so you don't need to check it on the rear screen. It's only 2-8 seconds, and can ...

If you have a pacemaker you are advised to always keep your phone on the right side of your body and on your right ear rather than the left. Just saying. They don't warn you about Nikon lenses.

I personally think this is a non-issue, and I wouldn't worry about it for one second. Why? Because I read that the improved eye-control, compared with the EOS 3 all those years ago (more than 20), ...
