The camera should have been focus locked on the people as the subject here, the forehround rocks have been locked onto instead. Or they could have stopped down, it hardly justifies a two thousandth !

This one is really good, i think there is more human error in the poorer shots than actual weakness in the lens, sensor and jpeg engine so far imho :-)

Hmm having trouble seeing this noise y'all talkin about. I do see a very good dynamic range for a compact zoom camera and no notable optical aberrations at eq 24mm......i would have stopped down this shot or used a polarising filter.

Thanks for pointing out they focused locked on the can ! Dof -focus bracketing should be a feature on advanced compacts imho.

Yeah daqk, they have bothered to hold the camera still and get a pin sharp image even at hihgh iso! A lot of the less sharp shots are hand held at 160th or slower, despite ois, get it right and remember how to take photos dp peeps!

This image tackles a very broad histogram of light intensities really well. Okay detail too.

Having just been through doing post-bokeh onto a set of mobile phone shots, you can see how easy it will be to push more blur in post from this camera. On the fence, but nearly blting!

From the sample images with the lens as delivered, I cannot see the point in such a small sensor on a MILC apart from Nikon creaming very good gross margin from fan boys, and 'soccer moms' who would be better served by a quality compact. Oh yeah you can pay 900 dollars/euro for a fast lens.

Camp Freddy: A pretty ugly concoction, but somehow Olympus ( and Sony therefore as major share holder) are committed to a superzoom and retro PEN / OM styling.

Better off doing an mFT 16mpx chip with a non interchangeable 24-120 collapsing zoom for around the 700 USD mark IMHO. Let Fuji amd Panny fight it out with Nikon following soon after in the superzoom sector.

@caverd - yeah the 16mpx sensor probably the first couple of Olympus (sony built) sensors which are mFT optimised or you could say that they will never see light of day in the four thirds format .....which differs in software due to the distortion mFT lens mount distance creates but then also on chip image acquisition can be improved on chip. FT is dead for better or for worse.
