Adobe Inc...run by lawyers. Remember when they used to be the good guys?
I really dislike the video reviews, you can't skim them for the info that is important to me. Too long & time consuming. Too much waffle. As a Panasonic MFT and Canon FF shooter I'm obviously interested in the new FF Panasonic but won't be looking at the video review. Give me print any day. Please!
If you're checking out the Razer gaming keypads, stick with the Tartarus V2 as it's the only one with a scroll wheel, which is also infinately programmable. For instance, I have Brush Size in Photoshop linked to the scroll wheel.
What a clumsy waste of money and space. I have a very compact, infinitely configurable $100 gaming keypad from Razer, the Tartarus V2 which sits neatly under my left hand with everything in quick easy reach. Every button can be programmed with the KB shortcut or macro of your choice, across as many programs as you have installed. Your settings are save in the cloud (Razer Synapse III). I was put onto an earlier version, the Razer Nostromo by a teenage gamer 10 years ago. The updated version, Tartarus V2 is just fantastic. Razer stuff is built to take years of physical abuse without blinking. This is an amazing workflow tool.

My Holy Grail like search for the best camera straps was expensive and long lasting . I must have tried them all. The search concluded with Peak Design a few years ago. Their straps and anchor systems are the best. No question. I hang heavy stuff off them and they're in high stress daily use. I'm not as enthusiastic about their bags and other accessories, but the the Leash, Slide and Slide Lite straps are just plain awesome.
The survey is little more than a PR exercise. Adobe has been 100% aware of the issues for years.
Seriously? Even the new rate is barely survival money...
Marcin 3M: I'm not fan of apple, but I have to confess, that I hardly ever used card readers built in my win laptops. I still use cf cards, and even for sd cards I prefer usb3 external card reader.
I always use external card readers too with CF cards, but by far the greatest percentage of cameras on the planet use SD, with amateur/enthusiast users in the greatest majority. They're the disaffected SD users. The built in SD slot is hardly cumbersome as Phil Schiller contends, compared to an external reader it's amazingly neat!
PanchoVilla: I wish I could switch to PC hardware, but I can't use the F1 key while using Photoshop. That's enough to keep me with OS X. Time for a Hackintosh!
Plenty of utilities to re-map keyboards. I use KeyTweak.
studiopwp: Phil, give us a break. Apple is just plain out of touch with customers, professional and home users. Imaging professionals are in a tough position right now. Microsoft is delivering on the hardware but failing us on the software. Apple is failing us big time on the hardware, but delivers on the software, OS-X.
Like so many power users who have been virtual Mac evangelists for decades, the disappointment is palpable. My next laptop is a Razer Blade Pro. Sorry dudes....
Good point

Kaso: "Canon EOS 500D + 55–250mm f5.6 lens; 1/250 sec at f5.6; ISO 1250"
Many armchair gear commentators look down on such an entry-level combo and cite all sorts of problems regarding resolution, dynamic range, shadow recovery, chromatic aberration, depth of field, subject separation, bokeh, distortion, corner sharpness, high-ISO noise and whatnot.
As my very first picture editor told me, Content is King. The best pictures may possibly get taken on phones. You could question them technically, but if they've caught the magic moment, then little else matters.
DR looks improved over 5DIII, how does DPR rate high iso performance vs 5DIII? Some direct comparisons would be enlightening.
That's a Canon commercial, pure and simple.
studiopwp: No mention of ISO performance. Can we conclude there is no improvement, or even worse than the 5DIII? Also no mention of the highly anticipated return of the red illuminated AF points. Slightly underwhelmed, might go for the 1DXII after all
@Yossarian1 The 1DX and 80D only had a 2MP jump over their predecessors. The 5D4 has an 8MP jump. Even maintaining the 5DIII iso performance will be an achievement. The fact there is no mention at all about iso performance suggests this is an area Canon are not too keen to draw attention to.

Seem to be a lot of critical & negative posts here from photographers who have clearly never owned a 1-Series Canon.
Donnie G: Great review DPR! I had no doubt that Canon's 1D X II would be drool worthy. I just regret that since I've retired I really don't have a need to own or rent a 1D series body anymore. The APS-C sensor Canons, like the 80D and 7D Mk II, more than meet my needs these days. At least that's what my wife/personal G.A.S. manager tells me anyway. Darn! :))
Nothing wrong with a good APS-C body. So long as it meets your current output requirements then stand tall!
Jim Hully: How was the "silent" drive mode? I found the older 1D models to have loud shutters that can startle my subject. The "silent" mode on the 7DII is significantly quieter than regular drive.
With respect Thermidor, do you own or have you tested the 1DXII? It's the greatest DSLR on the planet, but on the narrow subject of Silent Shutter, it's significantly louder than the 5DIII or 7DII in Silent Shutter mode. Anyone who has come to highly value Silent Shutter with their 5DIII or 7DII should test drive the 1DXII before dropping the Visa card on one.

Silent Mode? Nothing like your 5DIII or 7DII. Silent Mode means not quite as loud as the regular mode. Like it's predecessor, the 1DX MkII is loud. If 5DIII like silence is important to you, then the 1DX MkII may not be for you.
